I didn't get it LL. Was it on FB? I'm hardly ever on there. Send it here maybe?

I'm having a very slow day so far. Filing. Or trying to. My old system is straining under the volume of paperwork that goes through my hands and, to be perfectly honest, if I actually needed to produce a physical document for something I'd struggle. So I'm having a bit of a reshuffle. It started well, but I'm stalling... There's just so much stuff!!!
Filing is one of the jobs on my to do list for when I am not busy...

I need to weed out all the out of date stuff first Then maybe sort all the papers that I have stuffed into cupboards.

I'm sure somebody mentioned cake. Can we do August?

We have most bills sent online which has reduced the volume of paper dramatically. I just copy them all over to a memory stick so they're all in one place and easily retrievable later. It only takes a few minutes once a week.

The bills we do still receive in dead tree format I simply scan onto the same memory stick and the paper goes into the recycling bin (after Meg has used it to create her latest objet d'art).

Hello, chaps

Sorry to be absent for a few days - had a concert at school this week and then a day of activities for year 5s at school (bless!) so it's been even more crackers than usual.

bats, sorry and all but the weather is suiting me fine!

Cake in August would be fab. I think maybe there has been a call for us to venture southwards...?

Hugs and stuff xxxxx

Good morning Grumpies.

Looking forward to this weekend. My sister is coming down from London for a friend's wedding tomorrow. My brother in law (sister's husband) is looking after their kids, who are both teenagers and will probably end up looking after him more than anything.

Her friend is getting married to a Cornish bloke in St Austell tomorrow. Sisters hubby didn't want to come and my nephew and niece apparently rolled their eyes up in that teenagerly way they have when something totally boooorrrrrrrrrrring is going to happen. She decided she'd come on her own. We agreed..... It's for the best.

So, she's going to stay with us for the weekend, which means wifey's parents will be babysitting tonight while wifey and I shoe-horn ourselves onto the hen night. Apparently, the girl had the big hen night a couple of weeks ago so tonight is going to be just a meal and drinkies. Me and wifey aren't invited to the wedding because we don't know the woman, which is fair enough, but because we're putting up my sister, we're going along tonight. The more the merrier.

Wife and I haven't been out for a while now. We intend to enjoy it. We may even get quite squiffy when we and Mr Smirnoff's best known product become re-acquainted. It has been known to happen in the past. Once or twice.

I will apologise in advance for any enhanced grumpiness I express on this board tomorrow.

I can do August! Well, some of August. Quite a bit of August actually. And I could do down south.

CP - yup, if I can do something online I definitely do. My problem is the over and above normal bills stuff. As well as looking after our own business I take care of the finances of three other people, including their business dealings, and including abroad, and including some quite complicated legal issues, so I've piles of paperwork and from time to time I need to produce paper copies/originals so can't shred as much as I'd like to. And what I'm finding now is that the system I started with a few years ago has been overtaken by the sheer quantity of what passes through my hands. So I'm trying to refine it... but failing. It also doesn't help that I come across startling amounts of incompetence so if I were to become less than well organised I'd never achieve anything. As it is, I seem to spend most of my life on hold or waiting for some numpty to get their finger out and respond to an email. Grrr... Sorry, I'm spinning into a rant! Have a fab weekend.

Batman's working from home today so it feels like the weekend is starting early. Yay! Home made pizza and loads of plonk are on the menu for later but first I need to get away from my desk and do something active. I went for a longish run a couple of days ago and feel like I've been run over by a bus so an hour or so in the pool might be best.

They where not even top of the range I'm sure they are nearly twice as much as the last pair least the lads glasses where cheaper but can understand why folk don't go until really necessary.

That's pricey! I'm sure you'll look very fab in them, though, as well as being able to see near, far, and in bright sunlight.

We had half a plan to start painting the outdoor woodwork today. It needs doing and it's summer, so no time like the present, right? Wrong, it's been peeing down for most of the day. We managed a longish walk but got wet enough to retreat indoors - catching up on celebrity masterchef, drinking and planning to make fresh pasta for supper. Or have a take away.

Haven't watch masterchef in a long time since Lloyd Grossman really popping in a couple of times but Gregg Wallis gets on my nerves the way he shovels food into his mouth. grrrrr

Fresh pasta sounds lovely ummmm
