How fab snOwy! Hope it went well.

Hot and humid here. Had lunch with a friend and decided to not have any plonk, even though it's a Friday. I know, not like me. But with the weather being so heavy I just knew I'd end up with a massive headache. Roll on 6pm though...

I hope it all went well, Snowy. So.... Snowyundergrad is now Snowygraduate, eh..? Congrats to him. You must be really proud.

I remember my graduation. Mum and dad came down from London (I went to Portsmouth Uni) and as a City Centre campus, parking was almost non-existent, but dad crowbarred his car in somewhere and somehow avoided getting a ticket that day.

It sure was hot in that cap and gown, but everything went surprisingly quickly. It was a very special day.

What did Snowy Jr graduate in..? (if you don't mind the asking)

What a beautiful morning in grumpsville!

I got dragged out of bed extra early this morning by the boy asking for a lift. A lift which I offered last night, a lift that was rejected, a lift that I was assured there would be no need of... So I popped on some shades and went off in my PJs, hoping the car wouldn't break down.

Energized by this start to the day, I decided to take the bike out when I got back, and I'm so glad I did. I've got a fantastic disused railway line not too far away from me and it goes on for miles through a corridor of trees, fields on either side, picture perfect when the weather is good. And there are loads of cherry trees with absolutely gorgeous fruit ready for picking right now, so I'm typing this with stained fingers. Impossible to be grumpy...

Batman's still fast asleep... I might go and annoy him next.

snowy, MASSIVE congratualtions to Snowygrad!
Sorry for asking, but wtf is Discrete Maths ????
Are they not allowed to tell anybody the answers or something???
(brilliant mark, btw, all the best people have a 2.i...)

Bit cooler here this week - down to a mere 20 degrees from 28, so you can actually walk around outside without your flesh melting off...

It's my summer hollybobs at last (yay!), although as ever that mostly means six weeks of sorting out all the stuff I didn't have time for during term-time. And no childminder atm, so it's me and Melony most of the hols with some input from Mr Melon when he's not working. But she's quite grown-up these days so I have hopes. Also, she wants me to sort out the Big Bedroom for her to move into so she is bribable...

Spent yesterday at a rugby match in Featherstone - went to help Mr M set up an information stand for work and ended up staying with him to watch the match, then all piled off to McDonalds afterwards. Was really good fun and a lovely, friendly atmosphere.

Just checked the scales and discovered that despite saying YES to LARD rather enthusiastically over the last couple of weeks (leaving dos and general end-of-term buffet feasting) I've only gone up about a pound, so hopefully will be able to reinstate the healthy eating regime this next couple of weeks and not spend the whole summer eating biscuits!

Right - Melony is at school today and Mr M is at work, so I'm having a day out and about round York with a friend from school who I hooked back up with a few months ago. Cake AND walking, that could work.

Much love, ladies! ((((((GoW)))))

Afternoon grumpies!

My boy did a fair bit of Discrete Maths with his IT stuff - made us go cross-eyed when he tried telling us about it! So extra congratulations to ghostie boy!

Busy, busy here - a day of mostly chasing up what other people should have done weeks if not months ago. One very important matter kicked off almost a year ago and so far nothing, although the organization I'm dealing with has strict guidelines as far as response times. My last email to them went off two months ago. I've left it this long just to see what would happen if I did. Yup, the answer appears to be a big fat nothing. So the apology I got about 6 months ago from them for dragging their feet was obviously not worth the paper it was written on. Grrr... I'd rather be on a sandy white beach, listening to a crystal clear blue ocean lapping at the shore... Oh well, back to reality!!!

Well done @ Discrete Maths. I had enough trouble with Maths of the Continuous variety at A Level. The thought of DM would have sent me running for my hidey-cupboard and security blankey.

He is in very good company among all us 2:1 Grade Grumpies on here so good on him.

Snowy BSc. It's got a nice ring to it, dontcha think..?

Thank very much Mr Popular!

Eek, talk about grotty weather. The heating hasn't gone on yet but it's grim out there. Just as well I'm still chained to my desk today.

Yay, summer's back!

Sounds like a fab day snOwy.

Mine is going to be spent mostly in the woods today. The place we go to is huge but there's one tree I need to find again. Some very lovely person fixed up a swing on it - just a rope and a piece of wood really - and I had the best time channelling my inner five year old last time we were there, swinging away for ages, asking to be pushed, refusing to get off when it was time to go... Yup, I want to do that all over again today!
