![]() Lots of culture, food and wine. Highpoint was Uffizi and the twenty somethings saying, " Not another baby Jesus!" ![]() But I cried a little at the Botticelli - studied it at Uni don'tcha know! It is very beautiful. I also ate way too much gelato, but sometimes these things have to be done.I am now revelling in "choosing not to work" - not! So much so that I started to fill in a job application today. Old habits, like working for a living, die hard. Hopefully, I will get over it soon!Haven't finished the application yet at any rate. Hope all is well for everyone else. Where are you all? |

Welcome back snOwy!
Amica - that really does sound fantastic. I absolutely love the place and I'm hoping to go in the Autumn, if the weather behaves. For some strange reason I'm now thinking hmmm, pizza would be nice for supper.

Nothing from .... Laura lately ? Weather looks good this weekend I am at a wedding tomorrow evening but have no other plans. A book in the sun sounds like fun. I wish I enjoyed running as I would be slimmer and fitter

Evening grumpies
Nothing from .... Laura lately ? ![]() So, summer's here. I have a sense of my life flashing past at the moment. I left this week pretty clear as the youngest was spending a week here, off work, 'to chill out' and last night she ranted at me saying we'd 'done something every day' - as though this was my fault. So I looked at the facts - Monday I worked, she slept; Tuesday I took them to see their nan at 5pm via a tyre change at 4pm - which I had to have - and nan was their request, not mine; Wednesday we had visitors (her request) in the afternoon; Thursday she had a hair appointment after meeting a friend in town (her request); Friday she went to college in the afternoon and I didn't wake her until 10.30.... I think I've done all I can... ![]() Next week I am full on busy mostly working for the first three days so this weekend we are doing NOTHING. Nada. Zilch. Apart from going to Asda ...because someone wants a new duvet. And that would be...yup. The youngest. Sigh. Kids. Can't live with 'em...

You love 'em really...
![]() It seems that we're in the process of yet another beautiful marmalade pussy cat trying to move in with us. No collar, but very good looking and in nice condition so I suspect that he does have an owner somewhere, but he's taken to letting himself in through any open door or window, and we keep lots open at the moment given the weather. It's quite funny to stretch out on a sofa of an evening and 5 minutes later be joined by a cat, when you don't actually have a cat that is.

It is snOwy. I've just got back from a bike ride to find ginger with the boys, watching football.
![]() I just don't want the owner to be worried. When Biscuit and Nuffie took to spending time with us I knew who they belonged to and could tell them what was going on, but with this one I've no idea. So I'm being strong and not buying any cat treats... just yet! |

You can drop by and pick them up anytime. |

Loving the Olympics. OK... I admit it.... I'm an Olympics Junkie. Every leap year I become a total couch potato during the Games. Amanda is only thankful that netball isn't an Olympic sport (although it should be) or I would never move away from the TV.
So ladies..... does the Olympics make you happy-happy or mega-grumpy..? |

Gotta get it neutered though, right???
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CP - I'm going to resist being adopted. Life's too busy for a pet and we travel far too much too. It's a shame, though, because he's lovely and obviously quite keen to move in, mewing loudly in the garden last night, asking to be let in. If we offered him food he'd never leave! My boys are sports mad so I can't escape the Olympics and although I don't have much time for the TV I do find myself being drawn in, so I'm going to tick the happy box.

I'm really not a sports person in the least bit so am not consciously watching any of the Olympics... there - I confessed.
Not sure why I have insomnia though....

We were adopted by cats in Italy. The kids bought in food and I was reluctant as they were obviously wild and I worry that they might become dependent, but I gave in as one was a feeding mum. Two nights before we left they bought three kittens round which mine named after Danaerys' dragons. It's a good job we were abroad or we would have ended up with the whole family to care for. Never been a cat person, but they were cute.
I watch that Olympic round up on the morning after. I might tune in if we have medal hopes and the time is advertised... Mostly this week I am still doing housework. I have twenty odd years of, "I will deal with it later as I am too busy," clutter to sort. It may take months.

I know exactly what, or rather who, you need Amica - invite Sadperson round for lunch and show her the clutter with a resigned sigh... she won't be able to resist.

Happy Birthday Twingle, Amica if I was well enough between us Sadperson you and myself we would soon get rid of the clutter, and if I had time I could clear the ironing also hehe, No not watching the Olympics see enough sport on telly I did watch Cathy come Home on Iplayer the other night when I could not sleep recommend viewing just goes to show that nothing has changed and definitely no lesson learnt |

![]() I was bracing myself for a massive clear up this summer and am already running out of free days - fast. And now they've upped my hours at work - not complaining as the money is useful but damn I miss the free time already ![]() Quote:
