Nice to see you back LL.

Your day sounds nicer than mine snOwy - I'm going to spend most of this afternoon and early evening driving. And nowhere particularly lovely either.

My vote goes to Nelly, but mostly because I don't think I know the other one. Have a fab time!

We're just about to go off to the woods for a hike. Hoping to find my swing...

I'm spending today unearthing my kitchen (how does it get messy so quickly??? Genuinely, what happens???) and pottering about with the fambly.
It's Saturday, so Mr M has the footie on the radio, Melony is alternating between watching TV and playing in the garden... and I may be about to play Dungeons and Dragons online as a reward to myself for sorting the bins out and starting the Great Kitchen Tidy

I like to follow the Olympics but haven't watched any - Melony gets bored too fast and we only have one telly!

Popping out across lunchtie for a breath of air and a bit of a walk and then back at it this afternoon...

Laura, glad to hear you're off the steroids. Hope the new stuff starts to make a difference soon!

Had a lovely afternoon down at the beach. Amanda fell asleep on her towel so me and Meg 'buried' her in sand. Bounced the beach ball into the water so Meg could chase it. She so loves splashing about. She is such a water baby. It's lovely and sunny and warm today so the beach has been pretty full. We had to queue for ice cream which is a bit of a pain when the weather is warm but worth it. Hands up everybody who likes a chocolate flake in their ice cream cone O/ o/ O/ (that's all three of us)

Chocolate flake - oooo, yes, definitely. The whole day sounds lovely, and I'm still pining for a beach holiday. Can't see it happening for quite a while, unfortunately. Booooo

And weather's turned horrible again. More boooo...

Oh just booooo all round really.

Tut tut at you both!

Here, I almost don't dare say it, but the week has started well - I'm already through a small mountain of paperwork and several calls have been made and various bits of stuff have been sorted. If this was the norm my beach holiday would be a reality!

Anyway, the sun is back out is I'm off cycling, but first my music needs sorting out. I asked the boy to do it the other day and to surprise me - so I ended up listening to ABBA's greatest hits. I tell you, you haven't lived until you've bombed down a country lane to Dancing Queen...

I might stick Big Spender on my playlist, though.

We said that would happen with all that cash you ended up with.

Yup, all gone now.

And tyres snOwy - Batman needed all four doing over the weekend, then when I drove him to pick up the car the mechanic looked at mine and said all four needed doing too. And I'm on run-flats! And then the rear break pads needed to be changed as well of course. It was a very expensive weekend.

But onwards and upwards - I think I'm away next week (if I manage to get a flight booked!) so, as usual, lots to do and not enough time to do it. I feel quite chilled, though, for some reason.

I have managed to run out of holiday... well, days that aren't already committed elsewhere. How does that happen? And September is bonkers - have just given away my first free morning (16th!!!) - I will be a zombie at that meeting but can't be helped.

On the plus side the sun is shining and although I have spent all morning hoovering the house from top to bottom I feel very positive. With a side order of panic although that may just be the hot flushes

Talking of finances.... it's just occurred to me that I need to do some online banking

Sad start to the morning.

When Amanda went out to work she saw an ambulance outside a house further down our road....lights flashing and ambulance crew running in and out of the house.

I couldn't help but be nosey and ask another neighbour what was going on and it turned out that the old man who lived alone in the house was found dead when his grand daughter came to visit first thing this morning.

He was a lovely old gent and always said "Good morning" whenever anybody passed by. We didn't know him too well, but he would pass the time of day when he was out and about and he would make Megan laugh by pulling faces when we were out and he saw us. He called her "button" and he was such a cheerful soul.

We have lovely neighbours and he was one of the nicest. I feel really sad now.
