I can't remember the exact procedure, as it's a yearly thing. However, if you can't remember your login details and need to get a reminder on line, but this option isn't available, phone up HMRC and explain the situation.

I've done mine now, but Batman's is still refusing to play ball and he's firmly in jra's camp and doesn't really care. The best I can get out of him is oh I'm sure you'll sort it all out. Cheeky so and so.

Haha I like his style Bats - if I leave mine for long enough will you do mine too (though it'd probably only take you about five mins anyway!!)

jra - thank you, I'll have a look. I need to call them anyway and de-register as self-employed to save myself this bloody hassle every year - that way I can celebrate January 2014 as the last ever one I (hopefully!) have to do

Oh and another dodgy tax question - am I right in assuming that my complete lack of interest in filling in the form if you don't have a P45/P60 so paying emergency tax for a few months will all just be rectified come April? I'm in a bit of a confusing state employment-wise so when I de-register as SE I really should sort that out too... Oh and my student finance is buggerated at the moment too, that's on a to-do list as well

I've no idea about your tax question so best not.

Batman's got it easy, that's for sure. On the other hand he really doesn't have a clue as to how much money we have.

Same here. I hope. Can't you just PAYE? I don't get tax allowances and have never filled one in. Hope they don't get me.

Tax forms are for self-employed peeps, Amica, or if you rent a property out.

Sorry it's the funeral but often these things do feel better afterwards ((((((((((huggle))))))))))

We've got bright sunshine here atm - snow forecast about 5pm, by which time we should all be safely at home, I hope!

Feeling somewhat delicate this morning... and I didn't even feel the earthquake that was apparently just up the road! Rubbish...

Hope today goes as well as it can Amica - we've got snow here and more falling, I'm really hoping eldest's school shuts early so she can go and collect youngest later. If it carries on snowing I'll have to take the sledge and pull him all the way back - she's much younger and fitter than me

Anybody can be required to file returns, technically. My dad still gets them (he's 85), as he deals in shares, i.e. the tax man wants to know about his capital gains, and he has long been retired, obviously.

It's a bit of a lottery really.

Well - shed a few tears earlier but then had a lovely afternoon in the pub with rellies from near and far.

Snow is falling - supposed to be heavy but it's not so bad yet. We walked home and are now snuggled in with central heating.
Weather do your worst.

A tenant has just moved out. Whilst cleaning out the main crap, found one of my bank statements.

Have to check now, whether there has been any fraudulent activity.

ETA. Snow has reached here, just north of London. Still crunchy, but once it partly thaws and refreezes, it's going to be a nightmare.

Is that your first snow jra? We've had it since last Monday but it's mostly frozen over the week and the paths were more or less clear... we've got it fairly bad now, unfortunately every road into our town is a hill and so we have jack knifed lorries everywhere blocking the roads! Thankfully I have refused to go out at all today - and B's school did shut early so she collected Cal for me with sledge

Got loads of coal in and 3 out of 4 footie matches are cancelled so far so bring it on for the weekend!!

No snow here which is amazing for oop North! I actually feel deprived. I even bought a snow shovel which means there will be none this year!

I hope today is a really good day for the twingle family signs are Master twinglet will arrive some time today and as a grannie it is bloody worse than being in labour yourself.

What is really really strange I woke up with tummy pains at 2.00am this morning and she started at 2.30am and I took the phone to bed which I never do. Mabe I should start charging as a clairvoyant

I could die my hair purple and have pink glasses and a glass ball and a tent ............Oh yes!

Fingrs crossed, and vibes being sent in ghostie and twingly directions.

We're having a home day of pottering around and, being honest here, trying to avoid being the one who is going to paint the Massive Bookcase (now built). I'm thinking that it's Batman's thing so he should do it. He appears to be under the impression that as he built it for my books I should have that job. My come back is going to be that if it's some kind of a present then I want it finished and wrapping.
