Blimey jra - glad you're ok now, have to say that vodka is perhaps my safest drink! I can drink it forever and not actually be pissed... well, in my head I'd still sober and just being witty and amusing! Wine on the other hand has a tendency to make me giggle, talk rubbish, fall over and then generally fall asleep

It's been a football day today - 2 dodgy penalty decisions, thankfully one for each team so at least it was fair

Have finished reports - finally. One of the worst things. Would much rather do face to face. You spend so much time getting the wording right and have to be so careful.

Now what to do with the rest of my day?

OMG ! OMG not seen you on here for ages! Probably because I have only recently started posting again HA! Hope you doing ok x I wish someone would fill me in on everyone's life over the past year but I doubt anyone would want to go down that road so apologies if I have missed, births, marriages, divorces or deaths

JRA that's not funny and hope no damage done! I don't do spirits and used to be a wino until I got boring and gave it up completely however have started drinking since xmas and need to knock it in head again........I never seem to do things in moderation

Today I have a hangover from a chinese meal!! YEP that mono thingie always gives me a hangover and have the left
overs to eat tonight so another one tomorrow.

I saw Impossible last night and if you want a good old tearjerker that's the movie to see. I didn't shed a drop at Les Mis but sobbed the wholeway thro this one probably knowing it was factual although given the hollywod treatment! It does no harm that Ewan McGregor is in it too

Happy Sunday all

jra Glad you're okay. Must've been quite scary for a while.
Hi there and thanks for your kind replies.

I'm feeling a lot better now.

I was phoned back by the emergency services and asked a number of questions. Based on the replies, it wasn't deemed necessary to rush me to hospital.

But, I have to admit, that after last night, if you try a new drink, don't overdo it, and I don't mean just getting rather drunk, in case you have an allergic reaction.

Glad you're OK, jra, that must have been a nasty experience!

Mr M has been a bit poorly today, so I've been looking after Melony, houseworking and organising the last bits to do with her party on Tuesday while making sympatheic sounds and mopping brow also.

Helluva week coming up, too, but half term the week after \o/

It was. The most scary point in my life I have had for quite a while. I really did appreciate that the emergency services were there for me when they were needed.

On a side note, one of my former tenants suffered from epileptic fits and on one occasion I found him face down on the floor in his room. I had to dismantle the lock on his door to gain entry.

After being put in the recovery position, the emergency services were there within minutes.

I have a lot of respect for the people who work in the main emergency services, whether it be ambulance, fire brigade, coast guard etc.

I know I might have sounded dramatic and alarming, but it could easily have been game over for me. Definitely in every sense, a wake up call.

Hi OMG. Nice to see you.

=

Perhaps the moral of all this, as I'm going to be 49 in a month or so, is know your limits.

I know my limits - about a pint of beer or a glass and a half of wine... I'm a cheap date

You are a teacher, if I'm not mistaken. My dad was a teacher for nearly three decades, before going into a different vocation.

Not when it comes to Betty's!

Ooo, now I've said that, I want a big cake.

I'm on weather watch here - supposed to be flying off to see mama next week but Batman's fretting because it's going to be massively windy, apparently. And very cold.

I'm less bothered, my logic being that if the weather gets too frisky the flights get cancelled or diverted. And if I decide not to go it'll all calm down anyway.

I keep having a looky and the weather doesn't look that bad next week. I thought it was supposed to be really windy and the coldest February since something or other, but it looks like the same old, same old.

I woke up to heavy snow this am but now cleared so am all set for the off tomorrow but no room in case for snow boots so hopes no snow there! I can read DS on my mobile but for some reason I can't post so will lurk at leisure

Had phone call from surgery today asking me to make an appointment for a carer's health chek. WTF!!! I politely declined. So if I am not fit to care for my mother what happens then!! Anyway I see the asthma nurse and get BP checked regularily and I am sure if I have a problem I will let them know. Bloody Big Brother. I know I am a stroppy cow but this is just a step too far for me

I've done 23 years ( ) in secondary, though moved around the subjects a little. I currently work in Performing Arts.

Two shows done, and now I need a long lie down... *thud*

Hi! I am hoping/presuming Twingle managed to get away ok? We don't have any snow here thank god. Hate the stuff. My respects to you handymelon, think teachers must have the worst jobs going nowadays. Especially with the kids who have no respect for others and know their rights. Well done you. Think I would rather clean my toilets.

Haha it's worse than that - I'm away for the weekend so it will probably turn out to be 3 cocktail nights in a row
