HSBC were as useless as a chocolate fire guard regarding various financial issues, after a meeting with bank manager yesterday. Long story.

Headphone woes.

My AKG K340s are still not fixed. It's nearly a month now.

The £6-99 headphones I bought as a temporary replacement are pretty good for the price, but the right earphone has some background noise.

Anyway, the guy sold me the same as a replacement for a fiver. However only one speaker works. I've tested it in two different sources.

So, not a happy bunny.

Maybe I should emigrate to Canada or Australia, as customer service in this country often sucks big time.

Good vibes to everybody who is having problems in their lives, in case I've missed anybody out.

Am cacking self here so grateful thanks for all vibes. Mr Sad is interviewing today so unable to hold my hand this time. Good job I've got you lot, really I'm planning on being a very happy Sad indeed later if all goes to vibe.

However don't panic if I don't post as I can never get DS and my mobile to play nicely (my stubborness about loading apps and going www instead may be to blame, I concede) and after the appointment I am headed for training in Essex then back to Herts to pick up some stuff from the daughter. Home - oh, sometime after midnight I expect. Doubt it qualifies as putting my feet up, Batty, but life must go on xx

If I weren't so bloody rubbish I could have come as your wingman Sad - only just seen though

Avasgranny - Kill the Bastard!!

Amica - sending vibes your way too

Been to the docs with B this morning and finally got the referral to orthopedic surgeons about her thumb. After the consultation when we were waiting for the appointment paperwork she turned to me and said "so what will they do?" I gave her a bit of a confused look and said most likely operate to repair the damage, to which she replied "what??? An operation?? Like a real one?" Bless...

We also nearly fell out over flirting with the doctor (he's lovely!!) when he was holding her hands examining the joint she turned to me all smug and winked

Well I'm a very happy Sad this afternoon... slightly bow legged but very happy, nothing to fret over, can move on with yet more grateful thanks for those bloody marvellous vibes I love you lot

Decided against driving to Essex, there's only so much masochism I can take in a day - but will still be going to see the daughter, rather hoping Mr Sad might offer to come to. And drive...

Collette - I love that daughter of yours

Brilliant Sad news.

Collette - I keep telling you to send that daughter of yours up to see Aunty Batty. We'd have a ball.

And yay to my phone turning up! I was so thrilled I wanted to text you all pictures of my decorating... but the battery died, so you were spared.

Overtaken? Or chauffeured?

It's a bit of a boy racer's dream in the late evening. Two idiots came steaming past me (and I don't hang around) doing over a ton bumper to bumper. Then the one at the rear undertook another vehicle using the hard shoulder in order to get past the car he was chasing. Really dangerous. There's never a traffic officer around when you bloody well want one

Passenger in my lady friend cars. She was (still is) into sports cars.

So, although we weren't dating or anything like that, we'd go for a burn out some lunch times in the Porsche and later the TVR.

She was making between £50-60 per hour at the time (late 90's) doing computer consultancy.

Should've married her jra.

Sad - I've made an executive decision to have a day off from decorating so I'll do some pictures on Monday. Today, I'm going to be a domestic goddess. Either that or snooze on the sofa. I've been up since about 5am thanks to a couple of cats arguing about which one of them owns the garden. Fluffy feckers.

She was in a relationship at the time and is still with the same man 15 years later and has had a baby by him recently.

You know me. I'm always in the wrong place at the wrong time when it comes to women. Story of my life.

It's the usual. Women you like are taken, women you don't particularly like aka one night stands, you are not bothered about, then the age differences etc. I think I'm destined to be single for all my life.

I wish women were as simple as computers. At least then I would have at least a remote understanding of how things work.

I spent the morning in bed reading the book for our 'reading group' tonight (for that read wine appreciation society with a book thrown in ) and feel suitably lazy, BG - but I think I earned it yesterday.

jra - don't lose heart. I'm guessing that you're the perfect catch for someone who's either very career minded and hasn't made the time for relationships until now, or whose partner developed a mid-life crisis and ran off with a younger model. If someone wants to be with you they will make it work - you shouldn't need to understand the female brain (very few men do....).

Here's an example of why I love Mr Sad yet could kill him on occasion - I text him yesterday to let him know the good news after my hospital appointment (which he couldn't come to as he was interviewing yesterday, too short notice to cancel). Now, every girl friend I text messaged replied immediately. Nada from Mr Sad. Turned out he read the message, and then switched his phone off so as not to further interuppt the interviewing/meeting he was in. He'd got the info he wanted and it simply didn't occurr to him to respond with a message to express his relief that all was well.

When I was younger, I would have taken this as a sign he didn't care. Now, I know better - it's that 'male-brain' thing - nothing personal intended, just the egocentricity and lack of empathy typically found on those with leanings towards the autistic spectrum end of the male brain continuum. Fortunately he's had other opportunities in the recent past to show me that he does care - otherwise the tale may have ended very differently. I'm sure if I read through some of my 'back catalogue' of posts on here, my frustration with him over the years has been evident - but thankfully, we look as though we're heading for a happy ending.

On that note I suppose I'd better go and sort the washing out and work out what to give the bugger for dinner

Thanks Sad for positive feedback.

I was feeling very miserable and down recently, so I did a count up of potential close relationships that might have happened in the past.

At least 28 women it came to, that I should have taken it further. This is not counting DS. But, I didn't care at the time. I was a student. Now at my age, I sometimes feel very lonely.

Everyone needs a Plummie in their lives. I'd be matchmaking her with jra if she wasn't so far away -

I am off to drink wine and discuss literature. One of which will last about five minutes - I'll let you guess which

Awww. (((jra))) You're right, this kind of stuff is so often down to timing, and luck too I suppose. I hope you meet someone lovely, I really do. With me, it's always happened when I wasn't looking for a relationship. In fact me and Batman might not have happened if I'd stuck to my word - I really wanted a long spell of being single after I left my first husband (I married him when I was really young) and then Batman turned up almost immediately and I was all, no, no, no, go away, I'm being single now. But he wasn't having any of it.

KJ - Plummy's upsetting The Cosmic Lard Balance. Every time she says No to Lard, it lands on my bum.
