Awww. (((jra))) You're right, this kind of stuff is so often down to timing, and luck too I suppose. I hope you meet someone lovely, I really do. With me, it's always happened when I wasn't looking for a relationship. In fact me and Batman might not have happened if I'd stuck to my word - I really wanted a long spell of being single after I left my first husband (I married him when I was really young) and then Batman turned up almost immediately and I was all, no, no, no, go away, I'm being single now. But he wasn't having any of it.
Well, I hope you two are very happy and are going to be for the future.

Talking about 'well'. This is a term from the love of my life, that I still sorely miss all these years later, who used the term at times when the conversation dried up. She really was the love of my life (an Australian/Malaysian woman race wise), but I was too young (early twenties) and her mother thought I wasn't good enough or responsible enough for her at the time, which put paid to the relationship.

She looked similar to O'Chi Brown.

Beautiful lady

I have drunk a bottle of rose this evening and it has taken me ten minutes to type this post without any typos.

I am going to bed

Indeed. I think I suffer from Patrick Moore syndrome.

I do happen to share many of his beliefs and interests as well.

Gorgeous day here too and we're about to launch into a mammoth task - sorting out the garage. Big eek.

Well I felt my ears burning and the first place I came to check was here and lo and behold there has been TALK! Gracious me! I didn't say NO to LARD yesterday I said MORE MORE MORE!! YES PLEASE, THROW SOME LARD MY WAY BABYYYYYY! or something like that - well I went to Maccy Ds for dinner anyway - I was craving junk and that's as good as my excuse gets - shabby isn't it Having said that, it's my first wobble (pun intended) since I started my anti-LARD policy in January so I think I have been remarkably saintly. Having said that, Batty's theory about the global LARD balance is very interesting and all the evidence collated here does suggest that it must be true. Well I believe anyway

Sad, that's wonderful about your trip to the hospital, not so much that you had to go there but more the outcome. My concern was shortlived as I saw the issue and the happy outcome all within a matter of minutes, but it must have been a horrible time for you and MrSP. Thank you as well for thinking of me even briefly in your matchmaker role - all help would be much appreciated. I'm quite clearly hopeless at choosing the right person myself

Here life trundles along .... I'm like a little hamster on the great wheel of life, scuttling away and getting nowhere but does it matter as long as there is clean litter and some sunflower seeds to eat. Not that I use litter I hasten to add, nor do I eat sunflower seeds, although I was rather partial to Lemon and Poppyseed muffins ... which in turn lead to my now disappearing muffin top

In other news, I had a lovely hand-written letter home from YoungPlum's teacher this week. She's just gone into his class in Year 6 a few weeks ago (it's just the start of the school year here) and he was writing to tell me how awesomely wonderful she is, with exemplary manners and behaviour and is a "treasure in the class". Very proud mum I am He's an older guy and a really cool teacher, he's brain-washed his past pupils into always complimenting him on his shirt every time they come into his class room or he won't acknowledge them - which I have find terribly amusing as it's so pointless

jra - hope you feel more chirpy soon. I think we all feel down from time to time and start looking back on life wondering how things would have played out if we'd done them differently. I try not to look back too much, it just makes me shake my head and think wtf?! so I look forward, do something equally daft and think "what the hell" instead ..... and I wonder how I get into scrapes!

You talk much sense.

I know people will think 'get over it', 'grow a set' etc. but I still pine over this woman to this day. Nothing can change that.

Anyway, changing the subject altogether, I've found some vids on YouTube covering the part of the country where I was brought up.

For example.
Great British Railway Journeys - 13 of 20 - Torquay to Totnes

I love that programme, it's nice gentle telly, but even better is ‘The Railway: Keeping Britain on Track’ which is fascinating.

The things cleaners find discarded in first class ... knickers are not an unusual occurrence. (The King's Cross episode)

Get off, Plumster!
One of the bestest things about your witterings is that there's a lot of common sense mixed up in there

Same in the batcave. We've called half time on the garage tidy up, the boys are watching football, and I'm eating honey on toast.

Might have a little snooze in a minute...

I'll try and catch the next episodes. The next one is about the WCML. Should be interesting.

You're all going to hate KJ. I had a haircut yesterday, today I've done two loads of washing, bashed some spuds and carrots, vacuumed the office and Cillit Bang'd the office window which is supposed to be PVC white but had a thin greasy film of muck everywhere (barf).

Mondays are a bloody rush!

KJ, just reading your post wore me out!
All I managed yesterday was the washing-up and a kitchen tidy and cooking tea!
And we went for a walk, all three of us

I did make my Yorkshire Puddings from scratch, though - and there was enough batter left over to make some pancakes with tonight. Hooray!

Should I do a roll call, to work out which one of the GOW has gone missing?

@ Plummie

...and threads like those are the reasons I stay OUT of GD these days.

Know what?
My OH is my best mate, AND we have sex.
If he wasn't my best mate the sex part wouldn't have got us anywhere for very long. It's the very nice icing on the cake.

That is the secret to a great relationship, in my book.

Not all women are complicated, jra, love.
Just keep well away from the complicated ones!

I just generally don't really understand women. There is no manual on the subject.
