herAge = amicaAge - 8
hisAge = amicaAge + 30 (assume Amica's Dad was 30 when she was born)

hisAge = herAge +38
herAge = hisAge - 38
herAge >= (hisAge/2) + 7 (halve his age and add 7, if she's younger, whoops!)
herAge >= (herAge + 38)/2 + 7
herAge >= (herAge)/2 +26
herAge >=52

Amica is at least 60 OR we have a "whoops!" on age difference OR my sums are wrong
Bleedin' Carol Vorderman. Either way, well done AmicaDad! (and commiserations Amica - it must feel weird).

Just a flying visit from me. Believe it or not, I've had to wait since Friday night to post that "Carol Vorderman" comment owing to the speed of the DS registration process. DS's moderators ain't what they used to be.

Anyway, hope all's well for all GOW.

Take care for now,
R_P.

Sorry I missed the flypast, RP - good to know you're still out there!

If you fly past again, PM me and get back in touch?

Sad - seriously - start putting yourself first. ((((((((((((((((((mmmwah))))))))))))))

jra
Steady up there, lad!

batty - they deserve everything they get!

I'm here with my fingers crossed waiting to see how Interview 1 has gone... he's had to drive quite a long way in interesting weather conditions so I'm hoping it's been worth it!

Don't envy Mr M driving to an interview today The A6 was interesting enough - blizzard one minute, sunshine the next, lots of little weird snowdrifts on otherwise clear roads. Freaky, I tell ya

*waves to winged R_P* For once I logged out last night so I could finish the report I had been procrastinating about all day. Went to bed at 4am. Still awake at 5am Should have popped back on here to chat with the night service

Anyway - knackereddotcom - will be heading to bed soon - huggles and vibes to all grumpers in need. And a big fat raspberry to any lurkers just hoping for some fascinating gossip

Wow jra - you know how to party! Glad you're okay. It was probably being a bit, erhm, relaxed that saved you from a bigger injury.
That's the 7th flight of steps I've fallen down now, including Old Street tube escalator. I have also ran into chains between a set of bollards, mistaking where the gap was, and the chains won. Still, at least I have never got around to climbing factory chimneys, like an ex friend of mine did and swinging off the top ladder rung, 100+ feet above ground on one hand.

As for partying, I've pretty well given it up now, believe it or not, but I remember vaguely when I was younger, a seven year length party, between the ages of 18-25, aka being a student.

Morning all :yawn:
Thanks ((((snowbes)))) - I think I'm catching up on my kip at last, forced myself to bed last night, forced myself up again this morning

It's bloody cold

jra/BG - I look back on the mid-late eighties as the best party I had in my life. Oddly not while I was a student - I was way too serious back then

You could be me, SadP - too uptight to get p*ssed. Ever. In my life, ever.

Mr M had an interesting time yesterday, what with road closures and horrible weather conditions, but like the Pony Express he got through and attended his interview and made it home safely.
Waiting to hear how he got on, but he said he spoke with lots of different people so presumably they've all got to meet and confer - might hear today or it might be a while... he was so flummoxed at the end of it all he forgot to ask when /how they'd be informing people!

Still very cold and snowy here - sun's out now but more of the white stuff forecast. Joy...

I loved yesterday's Google Doodle - here it is, for anyone who missed it: http://www.google.com/doodles/dougla...-61st-birthday

I know someone who did that, so don't feel too jra. In his case, a tramp broke his fall.

Some of us once tried to get you tiddly using the passive drinking trick (as in passive smoking).

PS vibes at MrM

Aw HM, I have to burst your bubble as I was quite a drinker - but I was otherwise a good girl - then it all went horribly wrong and I had an absolute ball doing all the stuff I'd missed out on thanks to having serious relationships throughout my late teens and early twenties

So, what news from Mr M? *sends hopeful vibes*

Here, we have a defunct washing machine and a very peeved Mr Sad. I am mostly hiding upstairs.

Sending positive job vibes to MrHM from the land downunder and keeping my fingers well and truly crossed for you all.

Today I have mostly been being grumpy. Can I join this thread?

Hmmmm - I have nothing nice to say so I'm going to say nothing. Normal service will resume tomorrow..... probably.

Nothing nice to say here either. Too much to do, too little time. Didn't sleep well. Weather looks shitty.

I need a proper holiday.

Vibes to Mr M, though. Hope he gets some good news. And soon.

Must be something in the air. So far today have had huge row with Mr Sad over being guarantor for daughter's accommodation next year (if it was possible for me to be guarantor this wouldn't be an issue - all household bills are in my name as I've always paid them, but I no longer have a job, therefore it has to be him... lord knows what self employed families have to do).

Am delivering training tonight which always makes me stressed out beforehand. So am going to steer clear of the internet once I've dealt with the student lettings department and have a housework day. Can't do any washing

Come on Mr M - we're all rooting for you and some good news would be nice

That means something entirely different over here and makes GOW-land sound much more entertaining

Hahahahaha! That meaning may be later...

Still waiting, so maybe it's a no... though I suppose they may even have been interviewing two cohorts and not made their decision yet.
Also, on the definite plus side, he has another interview next Tuesday, so all is not lost.

Vibes to busy busy people and people with grumpy spouses and not-good-stuff happening. ((((((((hugs))))))))

KJ - no blushing required; I think that's quite amoosing

Oh the temptation to make a really salacious comment

I'll wait until tomorrow night - going out, will be drinking. You have been warned

When I first read that, I thought you were saying you are going out now.

We've finally got some snow around here.
