You can always talk to me.

(((Ima)))
Damn I was too late for yesterday! I think by the time you replied I'd already wandered off feeling sorry for myself Next time I'll grab you and talk/type your ear off

hello I am on leave for the next two weeks...have done some washing and some shopping and need to do some hoovering.

I know how to have a good time
Sounds like you live life on the edge just like me

Today I will mostly be dashing around like a headless chicken, hopefully not laying any eggs though but headless chickens probably can't focus on laying eggs, so I shouldn't worry too much about that! YoungPlum's birthday tomorrow and whilst she's getting money at her request for a spending spree at the weekend, I still need to get her something to unwrap on the morning and a card and whatnot, and the only time I've got is between dropping her at school and going to a pointless meeting at a job-service provider all before I start work at 10! I'll need a little snoozette by the time I get to work at this rate!

Hope everyone had a good day and that life in GOW-land is being kind to all of you;

As do my builders. We had the radio on REALLY loud all day and their harmonies to Beneath Your Beautiful were a joy to behold. Okay, maybe not a joy, but they were very enthusiastic, which kind of counts.

I hope I can cheer you up.

And yes I like a good chat. You should see my phone calls/month, roughly about 150 personal calls.

I'm sure you could cheer me up - although I generally am quite cheerfuI just get a bit bored after YoungPlum goes to bed!

Probably I only have about half a dozen personal calls on a busy month! That's why I know I can get away with not having credit some weeks Hmmmm I feel like a right billy-no-mates now! Considering what a chatterbox I am, I do most of my "chatting" in emails these days and some face to face but not a lot of time spent on the phone. It's something of an occasion in our house when my phone rings, what does that noise mean?!

Work was fair to middling horrible today. The store is being upgraded/revamped so there is "organised" chaos .... it isn't actually at all organised but we like to kid ourselves! Hoping the worst will be over in the next 10 days or so but I'm not counting on it. The wicked witch was at her worst today but fortunately for me her ire was directed elsewhere - felt sorry for the poor lady that came under fire as she really had done nothing to warrant the torrent of abuse she got. Welcome to my world, I thought!

In other news, I'm all sorted for YoungPlum's birthday tomorrow and should get the GoodMum Award for making her bacon sarnies for breakfast tomorrow as a birthday treat!

So do I but as I'm saying NO to LARD, I think a bowl of cereal will have to suffice for me *sighs in a saintly and slightly pained manner* Time will tell if I'm able to withstand temptation It might be one of those Borg moments - resistance is futile.

Yuck @ bacon sardines.

Toast for me this morning, before I split myself in two. Half of me will be up a ladder singing along with the builders, and half of me will be at home working. If I manage a further division some housework might get done too.

And I've that horrible feeling that I'm forgetting something important. Eeek.

I've never managed splitting myself in two.

So technically, half of you could be in the UK (you're up north IIRC) and the other half in Warsaw.

I'm nominating 'say no to lard' as the quote of the day.

Bacon sardines sounds like a combo that only DestructoPup could enjoy! Good luck with your division - I've been doing some of that with YoungPlum but it didn't involve slicing up people. Maybe that's next week

I've been busy in the last hour - I've done washing and homework and I've even created a new alter ego Japanese style superhero Basket Warrior - actually I am the blue Basket Warrior and my friend/landlady has been cast in the role of my nemesis red Basket Warrior! You never quite grow out of playing with washing baskets do you ..... do you?

What's the time over your way.

I ask this, because my lady friend in the states is already on daylight saving time now, so she is 7 hours behind me instead of the usual 6. Something like that anyway. Or is it 5 hours.

Brain fart over. She is currently 5 hours behind.

It's 6.20pm here in Queensland - we don't do daylight savings although most of the other states/territories do. There's a big debate about whether we should join in every so often, but so far the status quo remains.... saves having to remember to put the clocks forward and back although I do have to remember the UK time difference but I generally rely on DS to remind me of the clocks changing, there's usually a thread grumbling about it

Lee Mack did a brilliant short sketch about predictive text.

(strong language alert, even though it is partly censored)

Have you got an Australian accent now and when you talk does it take time for you to start up. See the end of the clip above.

I saw that .... and no, I don't have an Australian accent as such although I do notice (much to my horror) that I do have that rather annoying habit of going up at the end of my sentences now, making everything sound vaguely like a question. I try to keep it under control but sadly it does happen YoungPlum is gradually going over to the darkside and has an accent now.

Lee Mack does do a good take on various accents.

Check out some of the other clips on YT.

Nosey mode today. How often do you make it back to the UK, assuming that you need or want to.

Other than when I was in the process of emigrating after my first trip over here, I haven't been back for 5 years now. As things stand I can't see us ever being able to afford to go back, but things never remain static so who knows what my situation will be in a year or two or three, or maybe even four Two of my brothers are coming out next year to visit which will be cool.

Should be good. At least it's easy to communicate from all over the world these days.

It should be easy, it doesn't always quite work out that way. Anyway, I'm off to bed now, done well to stay up til nearly 11 pm - which is something of a record for me over the last couple of months Thanks for keeping me awake jra

Hope all you grumps have a lovely day! I'll have an overexcited 11 year old to deal with when I wake up - eeeep!
