I've had one of those weeks where theoretically I had loads of free time to get things done and I've done nothing. Darnit... oh well. Easter hols start next week.

got a mission..to find my mum a pair of leather slippers......

she had a pair she bought from Clarkes some years ago....
( that could have been 1964) ... will have to have a shufty in town...#

went into lots of shops...managed to avoid any purchasing for moi, but bought loo roll, bananas ,something to burn for tea and some sheba cat food( on offer) as my two go mad for it..especially the turkey in white sauce

Footwear is always problematic to buy IMO, as shoe size for one make is often different from the same size in another make. At least slippers have more give on average than shoes.

What's the Hatfield run and I haven't seen the survey window.

The Hatfield run is what I have to do periodically to rescue the daughter - tonight it was because she'd left vital stuff behind when she came home Tuesday-Wednesday... Still, at least I got it done before the weather turned nasty - gather we're in for more of the white stuff

I take it daughter is at Hatfield University. I did think about studying there myself, but went for the Polytechnic of Wales instead. Glad I did personally.

As for the survey, it might be the settings. Perhaps try another browser.

I loathe buying shoes with a passion. I've been told my attitude is like a bloke's ie. the bare minimum - I have a pair of thongs (flip-flops ), a pair of work shoes and a pair of high heels (this bought just after I separated just so I could be tall again). I do like footwear, I just hate buying them.

My mum and I were almost the same size in shoes, my feet were just a bit narrower, so she often used to get me shoes, try them on and say to the girl, "oh yes, they pinch just a bit - I'll take these!" - the shop assistants must have thought she was mad!

Mr Sad has just taken the washing machine apart (second time in a fortnight). This time it was the pump... upon dismantling said pump we have now located a (treasured) missing necklace belonging to Miss Sad. Well, what's left of it She's going to be gutted

Still, at least she can stop looking for it now...

I've been up since just after 5 because of the cat turf wars in my garden. At least I'm getting loads of paperwork done, though. And it's Friday!!! Yay!!!

I feel your pain - we have a cat turf war going on in the street outside our house. It's my landlady's cat Molly versus a mean yet strangely woosey ginger cat and a white and tabby cat. They gang up on Molly, but she's well 'ard and a bit of a tart too so I think she'll win They have a bit of a squawk during the night and in the morning which isn't so bad but it sets all the dogs off ..... all the dogs apart from our now sainted DestructoPup who is the only good dog on the block, when it comes to barking that is. I'm sure you'll all be relieved to know that she is still a menace in every other way.

Today, I have mainly been hurting myself at work. I miscaught 16 litres of Neapolitan ice-cream and it bent my middle finger backwards and is now swollen and very sore ..... I can't bend it but it did give me the opportunity to do rude signs at all my colleagues whilst demonstrating it's new inability to bend unlike it's fellow fingers. I'm such a lady at times I also ran over my toes with a heavy trolley load of boxes, I have no-one to blame but myself .... but I can't possibly do that, so I'm blaming the universe.

Good thing from today is that I get a full day at work tomorrow, in many ways I'd rather not work as I only had a one day weekend last week and had been looking forward to two days off this week, but I can't pass up on 8 hours extra. You never know when my hours might disappear again so this helps get me up to date on bills.

In other news, a tenant who left recently, turned up unannounced last night and wanted a room, and I said no can do. He asked whether I could empty the store room and I said, I can't do that before I have moved a ton of crap out of the garage, but he was keen that I would do it there and then. As if. I wish people would phone up in advance to arrange an appointment, rather than expecting me to be available 24/7 and at short notice. I'm not running a B&B here, you know. Needless to say, I didn't negotiate rental rates or anything like that. As far as I was concerned he had left. I'm not going to hold rooms empty on the off chance, people like him may re-appear. It just doesn't work like that and this particular guy conceded it was the case. He took some bed linen away, which I'd had kept for him, but was going to dump soon, as the last time we agreed a time he would collect it, he did a no show.

I used to enjoy a day out up to the museums in London. Shame that now that YoungPlum is at an age to really benefit from a trip that we are so far away! She has been to the science museum and the National History museum but she was only 5 at the time.

As to your tenants jra, there are alway people that think others should always jump to their bidding, it's very arrogant. You did well to put your foot down.

I've just been savaged by a horde of invisible mosquitos. They usually leave me alone these days but maybe it's the weather being so wet, they've just been bombarding me, apparently, I didn't see any or feel any until my hands,wrists and ankles all started itching virtually simultaneously! I can only assume therefore that they have been watching Star Trek and have perfected a cloaking device Romulan styleeee. But as the Klingons would say "loQ 'oy'DI' SuvwI' bepbe' " - a warrior does not complain about physical discomfort, so in my new guise of Basket Warrior, I suppose I should quit whining

PS I don't really speak Klingon, I have nerdish tendencies at times, but I'm not that bad I did a little search on google.....
