Just come back from seeing the firework display at Southwark Park.

Pretty impressive. Better than I expected.

The above links may expire soon, as it's a done deal.

ETA. Was going to see another display last night, accompanied by a laser show, but it was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. No rain tonight though, or at Blackheath.

Hope the showdown has gone OK. I feel your work-pain!

Welcome home to batty and Sad. You had a big job to do out there, but now tis done and I think Amica's right - we need cake sooner rather than later!

We had domesic fireworks (moggies hid behins the sitting-room sofa) - Mr M on lighting duty this year as I managed to sprain my ankle falling down a step in the cinema last week so I can't run away from a burning fuse fast enough!

Love you all!

In many ways.

handy - healing vibes for the ankle. (((handyankle)))

I'm finding that 24 hours in a day aren't enough, which is odd because as of now the plan was to have loads of time to get on with my stuff. Maybe if I get my head down I'll enter 2013 with a clean slate.

Oh, before I forget, there was something on Radio 4 yesterday about lard. It took me right back to our Grumpy Say No to Lard campaign (I didn't dream that, did I? )

((((((((((((((Amica))))))))))))) I hope today went better than your typing after the wine

Batty - procrastination is the thief of time .... and no, you didn't dream the lard thing

However, I think we need to say yes to lard and cake in a big way, asap. And I feel in my bones that sooner rather than later should mean very soon indeed. As I'm officially a witch now, that's an order rather than a suggestion

P.S. Am very jealous of those of you with fireworks, managed to see a few from the boy's penthouse suite at Uni and several from my car heading back from the daughter's digs last night - but no displays this year. Feel cheated.

What an evening. USofA got it right, Palace are top of the league, we did it with an awesome scoreline. What could possibly go wrong?

We'll meet up, eat too much cake, and explode.

Could happen.

Lard, it's not just for Christmas, it's for life!

Speaking of which, I've just had a rather lovely chocolate doughnut.

Had a lovely couple of days, apart from work which was far from lovely - Sad, do you do witchy cursing? If so, I'd like to place an order - is this your new business venture? Marvellous stuff if it is

Anyway, back to the loveliness - my tax refund finally came through after several hiccups due to tax agent inputting the wrong bank account number and then when that failed, they sent me a cheque unfortunately in my married name while my bank account is in my maiden name - d'oh! Updated the details now with the tax office but they punished me and made me wait an extra 6 weeks! It means I have enough to pay for my car's annual registration fee, which includes third party injury insurance! That's a worry gone and a little bit left over as a buffer against the bad weeks, oh and I gave LittlePlum $50 and i'm going to spend the same on books for me! She blew hers straight after school yesterday on Monster High Dolls but I've not ordered my books yet!

However, 3 books I ordered a couple of weeks ago all arrived today - so I'm a VERY happy bunny!

Bedtime for young Plum so I must awa' the noo!

Great news about the tax money Plumster! I was thinking just in time for Christmas, until I read about all the reckless and much more immediate spending.

Thank you for the good wishes (aagin!) all. Ankle not aching too much now but biiiiiiiig impressive bruise and a bit sore if I try to twist it the wrong way.
Skyfall (now aka Stepfall!) pretty much worth the injury, imo.
And I held on to my icecream and my coffee - didn't spill a drop!

Plumster - yay for rebates! Enjoy every dollar! (((((huggle))))

Good news - sis-in-law is HOME!
I haven't spoken to anyone on the phone yet but have hed two texts and all is well, though obvs she's not skipping round the house yet!
GOW vibes - bloody powerful stuff...

Re the PM - I need a chat with Mr M about weekends between now and Chrimbo, then i'll get back to you.

*skips off* (carefully)

Only a true GOW would manage that.

KJ - I haven't read 'the original' but I'm loving the shed version. "My rhubarb had come up a treat" is a phrase that'll be used in the batcave, until I'm firmly told to shut up.

Me neither.

Only 'cos by all accounts KJ can do better innuendo in his sleep.

Why is rhubarb an aphrodisiac?
