Happy bidet from me too sNoWbes. Enjoy hangover.com

My head very definitely hurts, I am having the day off. We couldn't get out of Wembley afterwards due to the queues at train and tube so ended up going for a meal while they subsided. I broke rule #1 and helped someone with a bottle of red wine which is a no-no with beer.

FB.

Family fine, piggy is a perky piggy once more. Bless her, we couldn't give up on her when the vet said she could be put to sleep, 60 quid later, she's back as a Premier League Piggy.

She never, ever, let me stroke her before, now she does, without even a rumble (the "I'm a pissed off piggy" sound).

Awww, glad Piggy is OK

Star Trek Into Darkness was REALLY good.
Top marks to Benedict Cumberbatch for a really crazed baddy. Brilliant!

Amica.... do you like kittens? Or is it you who's allergic?

Aww, piggy sounds so cute.

Here, I'm no longer tied to my laptop for the next few days, but I have up the ladder duties yet again, so I'm having a slooooow breakfast before getting my dirties on and going forth.

No comment on batty getting her dirties on!

Lazy morning here, got an errand to run and a bit of food shopping to do. I can hear a Sainsbury's all-day breakfast calling my name...

Incidentally - been trying to buy 100% cotton nighties for Melony - what a nightmare! Apparently the rules about making them flame-retardent are really strict, so they're almost impossible to buy. Ended up at Boden, who do sell them, but at 20 quid a pop!
Hopefully they'll last her two years, but even so...

God, I sound middle class...

Trust me, HM, you'll look back on these years of expensive nighties one day with fond nostalgia. Speaking as one who has seen most of her paltry redundancy pay being frittered away at Primark and George at Asda by a singularly ungrateful student daughter... yup, I am Very Grumpy right now

I need cake. More than that, I need a lottery win and a one way ticket to the moon.

Not surprised to hear that. Although caveat emptor, aren't most of the utility companies?

I think we'd all get drunk first, then take it from there.
Sounds like a plan.

London would be easier though for me.

Ooo, I was dealing with them yesterday and today. On the whole I agree but there's a lovely chap in their complaints department who actually managed to solve my (well, their... ) problem within 24 hours. I have his direct number if you want.

Hi LL

Hi LL
Was his name Oliver? He's ringing me tomorrow

Hi all. Lovely to see you back LL

Sorry, my grumpiness really is off the scale at the mo. Am sure that going out for dinner with the lovely colleague I used to share an office with will be a welcome respite tonight but it may end in tears I wouldn't have believed it was possible to miss a bloody job so much

On a brighter note.... apparently the weather's going to warm up a bit eventually

Now then, can I interest anyone in a teenage daughter?

Been a bit wet and 'orrible, hasn't it?
Supposed to warm up for the weekend, though, so hang on in there all!

Mr M is back at work in the morning so having a flap about it tonight and has nodded off on the bed without having got round to his tea yet. Have to wake him up in a minute and he'll be *really* grumpy by then. Lucky me!
Bloody Melony hasn't gone to sleep yet - of course. Because she *should* be asleep and he *shouldn't*. Gah!

It was an Edward Sad - fingers crossed your Oliver sorts things out for you!

Sorry to hear about your shite day snOwy, and about your bedtime tribulations handy.

Peeing down like nobody's business here and the heating's on - just your typical late Autumn morning... Plummy, can I come and stay for a bit! I need sunshine!!

You'd be welcome to stay but I don't think you'd want to at the moment as it's peeing down here too! It's also a tad chilly at a high of 26C today and down to a near Arctic 20c at night..... which seriously is quite cold here! Houses aren't built to keep the cold out and warmth in, they're mainly just built to withstand cyclones and that's about it. No wall insulation or anything, just one layer of blocks generally.

I've had a grrrrr sort of day at work being bossed around by an idle half-a-job bob 19 yo little madam. I had a bit of a rant to one of my colleagues about it, and she was encouraging me to swear because it made her laugh, she said it's a bit like hearing the queen swear and she says even when I swear I sound as if I'm offering sugar and milk with a cup of tea Too polite by half!

Then after a long-ish day at work I had the joys of coming home to make a start on clearing out the Stinking Pit of Doom! otherwise known as YoungPlum's bedroom. Who knows what horrors lurk within, but it doesn't smell very nice and when we started there wasn't an inch of bare floor. She is now quite amazed at the sensation of walking on clear flooring and is admitting it is a pleasant sensation! To be fair, she's been quite good at letting me throw away her "treasures". At heart she is a hoarder and if I don't seize control now then she'll be featuring on one of those Hoarder programmes on tv... where she'll be thigh deep in rotten bags of grot saying "but that was the core of the apple I was eating on the day that I got a B in Science.... I could never throw that away!"

Watch this space for further grumbles at the weekend when we get back to it. Isn't that a glorious way to spend my first proper weekend off for about 6 weeks!

*waves to jra*

Hey Laura, glad to see you posting a little bit more. YoungPlum and I are both well and oh so much happier than we were! Hope you are on the mend and that things are going well for you and yours

Tonight we eat takeaway. I've done enough domestic stuff for one day. Hope you all have a good day!
