Sorry to read about the sad thoughts and events of recent posts. Life can be so tough at times. It makes me again realise and appreciate what a fortunate life I have lived, particularly in my formative years.

Having said, I think I'm still in my formative years, or I need re-formatting .... hmmmm is that a euphemism?

Not much occurring here. Mainly just working. Perhaps I need a Mars Bar as they help you work rest and play apparently, but perhaps only if you have one every day though, which wouldn't fit in with say NO to LARD. So in essence I'm doomed to just work... I don't like my conclusion, I think I'm going to have to rethink it.

See this is the price you pay for nothing happening - I witter instead! It seems a bit unfair that I make you suffer because I have nothing going on - but tough!

Today the town and most of the east coast of australia has gone mad as its the first State of Origin match tonight. One of the strangest things is that I have to get used to pronouncing "maroon" as "marone". The rivalry and it's a HUGE rivalry is generally very good-natured though but there are going to be some big parties tonight and some sore heads tomorrow no doubt. I'm more of a proper football sort of person and Rugby League is not my game but I'm going to make more of an effort to care

Speaking of real football - my Jose is back! woop woop - I love Mourinho, he's an arrogant git but hugely entertaining.

Nothing else to report, just work and house work ..... and KFC for dinner. I do not like KFC, but YoungPlum does, so for the second time in a year I gave in and we went there - by my reckoning, the next visit will be around Xmas

jra - for what it's worth, I used to worry enormously that things I posted online would somehow come back to haunt me. I no longer worry. I've reached an age and stage in my life where those that mind, don't matter, and those that matter, don't mind. Or in short - no-one who really knows me is going to accept the twisted spin that strangers might place on what I have to say.

Regarding postings, I have the same opinion as you.

I posted a few weeks ago that I'm bi-sexual and had told my dad, who didn't seem to be in the least bit bothered about it, which frankly was a huge relief, as we have never really talked about sexual exploits, so to speak.

I've never made a move on any of my close friends, as (a) I don't fancy them in that way and (b) they don't need to know, although I suspect some of them have their suspicions.

The police turned up yesterday, regarding a RTA caused by one of my tenants. I was a bit worried at first, but all they wanted to do is take a statement/incident report (I wasn't a witness to the events). The tenant wasn't in, so they'll have to phone him back. When I heard what happened from the tenant 1-2 weeks ago, I was quite surprised, as he is a really nice guy and has rented here for over 8 years, so I guess it was just an error of judgement. Nobody was hurt or injured and he wasn't drinking or on drugs.

I've had a very entertaining evening with YoungPlum. It all started with me getting The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia on the brain this morning on the way to work and then ended up in a Laurel and Hardy youtube fiesta It was great to see her literally fallling about laughing at things that had cracked me up as a child and which obviously still send me into fits. Innocent humour of a bygone era. Awesome-ness!

All else plods along here. The weather is uninspiring, mainly grey and rainy. Very odd for this time of year as generally it's blue skies, sunshine and a lovely temperature between mid to high 20s - winter is great!

Just for once, plums, it's me posting about sunny weather and you moaning cos it's grey! The weather in Hull yesterday was listed on my phone's weather app as "dreary" - very accurate description!

Today is a nice sunny one, though.

I'm a bit knackered myself after being sociable again today. I went to a charity lunch and the only person I knew was the friend throwing it, to coin a phrase. It's not usually my kind of thing but today was nice and I'm starting to be very aware that unless you invest in friendships years can go by and it's not always possible to pick up where you left off. I think my friend and I just about got away with it. Not rocket science, obviously, but I do think that I've generally been quite lucky with mates in that respect, so I'd best not get complacent.

So, who's for a meet up in Betty's over the summer?

Warsaw seems to be having almost daily thunder storms and although at the moment it looks like things will get drier soon, the forecast has been saying that for ages and getting it wrong. It's also very hot. A friend texted me to say it was almost 30 the other day. So I'm looking at really hot and really soggy.

KJ - it's the shoe thing that's doing my head in. I can't get it around very wet and very warm plus girly footwear. It just doesn't work.

snOwy - always good to be home.

I've done loads today, including sorting something that's been hanging over me for ages and that I thought was going to be a nightmare. I called a company in Warsaw and my nightmare will be sorted out by Tuesday for the modest sum of around 40 quid. Result.

I admit my knees tremble at the thought of BG in high heels but consider this: I'm old enough to look admiringly at an attractive woman while at the same time thinking that her feet must be killing her, as I did at Gatwick last night regarding a fab pair of stillettos.

Pack the f**k me shoes, wear the comfy ones.
