Oh wow - Plums - sorry but I did laugh too. I think it's jumblies that have blue hands and green heads so you were lucky not to join them. Glad you had a special birthday anyhow.

helloo omg - nice to "see" you

waves to everyone else.

I have an anecdote to rival one of Plummie's today!

Mr M is a bit stressy this week, owing to appraisal meeting for new job, and last night had a nightmare which culminated at 4am with him lashing out and smacking me in the face so hard he gave me a nosebleed!

I'm basically fine this morning (bit of a headache!) but he's mortified

In other news - some of my year 11 students have given me a thank-you CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! Best students ever or what???

*waves to laura*

Amica, your mention of the Jumblies set me off on a trip down memory lane! "Far and few, far and few are the lands where the Jumblies live... Their heads are green and their hands are blue and they went to sea in a sieve"

I used to be a trainer in my past life before I went mad. Anyway, some of the courses used to last a number of weeks, and I almost invariably got a bottle of vodka as a thank you ... best students ever!

@ the bloody nose story! That's a story you can dine out on for years.... and watch MrHM cringe Poor soul, I bet he feels awful.... and poor you!

I forgive you and Amica for laughing at my tale of woe....

Life here is mooching along aimlessly ... I'm taking my car into the garage tomorrow for them to do an engine diagnostic thing to see what error code is showing for my engine warning light. They agree that it's probably nothing significant and just a blip in the system. However, I'm going to get the fuel injectors done next week anyway as they need to be done sooner or later and I might as well bite the bullet and do it now.

Yes, I ended up in A&E claiming I tripped and it was an accident. Same with the cucumber up me bum.

This makes me look a right softie, but the squee in me has found this

Woop woop - it's the weekend and I have 2 days off in a row! I'm planning on doing a serious amount of nothing in particular. Some might call it a wasted weekend.... but the idea appeals to me hugely. I've done as much washing/ironing stuff as I can so I don't have much to do for next week..... so mainly it will be lazing around. That is Plan A. There is no Plan B.

Hope everyone has a good Friday .... but not in the Good Friday sense ....

Bummer.

I bloody hate the thought of not being on my way home at the end of a trip involving travel by plane or train.

Bon voyage!

Anyone watching BB?

Hope the plane's finally landed back home BG. And that there's some wine in the fridge when you get there

Here, well... meh, basically. Been a phenomenally busy week, next week's looking as bad... mixed blessing as I need the work but ye gods, I'm tired.

I made it back! Eventually! And yes, much wine was had as we all caught up.

The trip was lovely in some parts (Warsaw just keeps getting better and better) and a bit grim in others (mama thinks she's going home every time I appear so me appearing isn't a good thing).

But the place she's in is fabulous - like a resort hotel - and the staff are great. Even if I don't see her, I think it's important to keep popping in to build my relationship with them and see if she needs anything getting. It's a long way to go, but I can't just leave her there.

And now it's back to real life, well after the weekend it is. My week's shaping up a bit like yours Sad.

It is indeed. It's worth a look at the actual bridge on street view or youtube

Grump. Too much to do too little time. No energy for any of it. Most of it not even to do with my work but with other people's stuff.

I want my life back!!!
