I had a water leak, two or three days ago in the bathroom, from the shower installation. It was nothing serious in terms of an emergency, but it's been fixed now (yesterday).

It was faulty copper piping, in two places, so my plumber replaced the defective pipe with new copper piping.

It was free of charge thankfully, as I had originally paid good money for the original installation.

The mystery is, why did the piping decide to leak (now) when it had been installed for around about a year.

Here, well, ditto what the Bat said really Out from 7am until midnight yesterday and the week shaping up to conspire to stop me from sorting out my invoices

I cut my own hair with a couple of pairs of Kitchen Devil scissors, using a mirror. The only difficult bit is around the back, so it's a bit of a guess there. It's not that I can't afford to go to the hairdresser (it's under a tenner for what I want done), but I hate queues and the itching you get after your hair has been cut, plus when I cut it at home I can go straight into the shower.

Number 4 mower job here.

I'm sure you could get some clippers on t'Interwebs if the barbers is too much hassle,

My friend once cut the grass at the front of her house with kitchen scissors cos she hadn't got a lawnmower and decided it had to be done RIGHT THEN. She's a bit eccentric but utterly wonderful!

I used to trim my lawn edges with scissors. I was a bit sad back then. These days if the mower doesn't double up as a strimmer it's tough

I saw a woman doing her little front lawn with scissors when I was in Warsaw.

I'm snowed under and in no mood... for anything really, apart from sitting out in the garden with a book. Not asking for much, is it!!!

Do the lawn with a goat! We're using DestructoPig now she's got her appetite back but she can't match a goat.

I'm still grumpy. Haven't even seen the new Star Trek film yet, so things are obviously quite crappy in batland.

I'm not grumpy today, I'm very, very relieved. Just had my FINAL check up at the hopspittle. They don't want me back. YAY!

My relief is tempered with the knowledge that I will soon be losing an old and dear friend to cancer which serves to reinforce what a lucky escape I've had, and how bloody unfair life can be.

But personally at least, all is beginning to look somewhat rosier of late. I'm massively busy as well, which hopefully bodes well for the future Here's to grumpy vibes and hugs

Here we have a Melony with a Sore Throat and a Hurty Ear and a Temperature. Rough night lst night for everyone but she's spent the day off school snoozing and watching Beebies and seems better this evening. We shall see what morning brings!

I had the day off with her and while she was asleep I listed my first ever items to sell on eBay - very exciting! Well, it is to me, anyway...

Evening/morning all

Just realised that about a week has gone since I last posted .... and I have no excuse. Time just seems to be running away from me. Having said that nothing of interest has happened, just the usual daily grind. Had a few minor catastrophe's and mishaps involving spaghetti one evening, noodles another .... and an incident involving DestructoPup and a container of soup. All sorted out with apologies, growling (by me not the dog), dashes to the shops and cleaning up ...... same old same old

I had the day off today which was largely wasted by me staring into space in a vacuum of nothingness. I have no idea where the day went. Long day at work tomorrow so no weekend off for me, I must have been very very bad at some point.

Hope everyone has a great day and gets stuff done where it needs to be done, gets better where you are poorly, and just have plenty of smiles along the way, that's what will always see you through! ..... having said that growling and bitching can be entertaining too

Plummy, had I not gone out to lunch today I would've been growling and bitching by now, for sure. It's been a prize shit of a week and I'm glad that I said yes to going out. It was mostly long standing friends apart from one woman who is slowly being included into that particular social circle - she's completely nuts and her life is a bit of a car crash. Obviously I wish her nothing but the best, but I must admit that listening to her stories made me feel like I've got it all sorted out. Maybe I have!

As I don't like flying, I wasn't looking forward to the swim between Asia and Australia.

Today, I'm in pain. I hurt my shoulder earlier in the week cleaning freezer doors and today I totally buggered it (scuse my French) pulling out a mighty pallet of frozen goods that got wedged in the freezer door. Before I could lift my arm this high .... and now I can only lift it this high *demonstrates arming raising* quite a marked difference I'm sure you will agree

All good though as I now have a day off tomorrow - big woop! Apart from the painful incident I had quite a funny day at work, I was in one of my sillier moods and was generally being the class clown - when will I grow up *shakes head despairingly*

Weather here is beautiful ... blue skies, mid 20s temps and cool at night - I love winter!

It's only 13 degrees C at 10am during summer here.

I thnk it's only got down to 13 degrees once in all the time I've been here and that was during the night. Apparently the lowest recorded temperature here ever was 6.2c in 1946.
