There seem to be so many hoops you have jump through when flying these days, according to the airline type programmes you see on the telly. If you turn up even one minute late for check in, you are liable to miss your flight and as airlines tend to overbook, assuming some people will not turn up, it's anybody's guess when you'll be able to catch 'the next flight'.
EasyJet will get you on the next flight home if you pay about a tenner for insurance.

Those TV programmes are absurd.

Glad to hear that. I know it's been a long time since I've flown, but it was pretty simple and no hassles, apart from the length of the check in times. You certainly did meet some real aerosols on those programmes.

My ex next door neighbour has met Jane Boulton at a local supermarket.

The flight was fine in the end. Seat belts on all the way but that must've been *just in case* because it wasn't even that bumpy.

Lovely to be home.

MsKJ was, at the same time. I was quite stressed. 90 minutes delay.
(((((KJ))))) Thankfully not as grim an incident as it could have been

It was a lovely trip Sad. We're all knackered, though.

And the weather's amazing! I still feel all holiday-ish.

Not quite so bad here as it was yesterday, thanks to early cloud and a bit of a breeze off the river all day, but too hot for me. Hiding indoors wishing it would tone it down a bit!

*hoses snowy off*

If anything breaks the surface tension I'll collapse into a puddle.

It's been about that here too and the garden is now my office - I keep moving in and out of the shade.

I LOVE this weather (sorry handy).

Upgraded my FTTC connection again.

Modem
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 65397 (meg)
UpStream Connection Speed 20000 (meg)

That's 6X more than I used to get download, 30X more than my dad gets and 20X more upload than I used to get.

21 or 22 I can cope with, but any higher than that and I just loose the will to live!

Well that just sounds like a most excellent excuse for the classroom

HM: Oi StudentPerson, pay attention when I'm talking

StudentPerson: Sorry Miss I didn't realise you were talking on account of the fascinating goop in my ear.

Glad to read the good stuff that's been happening and Grrrr @ the bad stuff. I have kept up to date with my reading just not been posting - I temporarily lost the will to witter

Life has had it's ups and downs .... but mainly we're keeping on an even keel. It's tax-time here so keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get some of my tax back and be able to do something frivolous. I feel the need for frivolity.

It was YoungPlum's sports carnival today and she came third in her race and got her third place ribbon pinned to her top ..... she's just conveniently forgetting to mention to anyone that there were only three in her heat She's a chip off the old block!

DestructoPup still has us on our toes running around clearing up after her and trying to get rid of the evidence of some crimes and paying for others *sighs* She had her second birthday last week so maybe in a few more years she'll grow up ...... I doubt it though!

On the work front, I've got a new boss - he has said more friendly things to me in his two week reign than his predecessor said in the previous nearly 2 years! My job is still heading towards non existence and no idea whether or not they will give me another role when the time comes ..... they won't even give any idea about when the time might come! I'm taking each day as it comes and hoping for the best and trying to appear very efficient and hard-working whilst maintaining a certain level of mischief All work and no play makes for a very dull Plum

As to the weather, it's still very VERY cold here - it's only been 26 or 27C most days and 19 c overnight. We're doing it tough here this winter

sorry jra!

Plums! Good to hear from you, I was starting to wonder.
I could NEVER emigrate - I'd wilt like the wilting Pom lily that I am!

Paid my plumber £25 quid today (by cheque) and he returned the keys.

In the bag he dropped off, there are 3 keys that I don't even own AFAIK and one of mine is so rusty I'm not sure if it is still usable. Some people.

What the hell is wrong with some people. I mean how difficult is it to prevent keys from rusting, if you keep them indoors.

And ETA. He didn't phone up in advance to say he was arriving, even though I've asked him to do so and was also shouting my name loudly in the street, when I didn't answer the door initially.

King hell. Don't people get this. If you want to visit me, phone up in advance to arrange an appointment, rather than just turning up randomly unannounced.

Bloody hell, is it hot.

Think I might go into London again this weekend and take a Thames cruise. £15 from Westminster to Hampton Court (2 hours on the water) and can get back so to speak on the one day travel card.

I'm just heading out of London and the heat was murder. And now I've got this bloke next to me, asleep and rolling with the train and leaning into me every few seconds. I've a feeling we're going to have words soon. Grrr...
