Do you like the Terminator and Die Hard films?
![]() I've got a few go slow days ahead of me. A few things to do, and a desk to tidy up if I want to, but nothing too pressing... and it feels a bit weird. I'd better make the best of it, though, because life is speeding up again in a week or so! Eek. |

6 hours solid spent cleaning up the house vacated by five of its original occupants
and I bet we still don't get our deposit back [/grump]Weather's been cracking though Loving the thunder, rainstorms, sunset.... and the view on the way home of a storm in the distance was just gobsmackingly beautiful.Going back to finish the clear up and clean up job (yup, not yet totally done) on Wednesday. Therefore the shiatsu massage I have booked for myself tomorrow afternoon is purely medicinal

![]() It was actually a reference to Red Dwarf 2 Episode 5 - Queeq. Quote:

I've been a blur of motion today - finished my CV, ran a list of about five errands to various places, did some domestic goddessing.... phew!
Took Melony up to see her grandad and Aunties and Uncle and cousins yesterday and she managed to fall in the river right over her head! ![]() Luckily my brother huled her out and she was quite sanguine about it and went back in again, but he was soaked right up past his waist.... I had a change of clothes for M, as she's inclined to that kind of caper, but he spent the whole day with wet jeans and the water slowly wicking up his t-shirt. Guilt trip, much! Apart from that we had a fantastic day, and today has been satisfying in terms of getting stuff done, but we're both jiggered now. Quiet day vegging for her tomorrow and pottering/orgainising for me! |

Evening/morning all
Sorry I've been quiet, I've had a busy week and just not got on t'internet. No, I didn't have a hangover..... well not much of one, just felt tired but that's because I drunk loads and loads of water before bed and consequently kept waking up to go to the loo! TMI probably It was a good night though! Had a rotten week at work - I think I'm just too tired and need a few days off but can't yet as it's very busy, we're short staffed and so I'm getting a lot of hours which I don't like to turn down. We had drama today - somebody broke my baby!!! I sent her off to school all in one piece and then just after lunch I get a phone call from the school to tell me, she's had a fall, hurt her arm and can I come and get her. They were pretty sure she was going to be ok, but it turns out she's bust her arm and will be in plaster for the next few weeks - it's her left arm too and she's left-handed so she's delighted thinking that she'll get out of school-work .... but I'm sure they'll manage to make her work My main concern was that she completely lost her sense of humour for well over an hour..... it was awful. I had no-one to laugh at my hilarious jokes! She's so selfish, I tells ya!

Which reminds me. I must order that left handed screwdriver. The hammer has already been delivered. On a serious note, left handed scissors do actually exist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scisso...anded_scissors Same with secateurs. |

Poor Plumlette! And poor Plum!
![]() Hope you both soon feel better. (((((((huggles))))))) I've spent the hottest day of the year so far moving the last of the equipment out of my block at school and helping to pack it all onto a van to go to its new home. I am very sweaty and very weary but feel like it's a job well done. And at least we have a good blustery wind thundering up the river and making a few welcome air-current in the bedroom. It was 31 degrees as I was driving home - yeuch! |

I haz tr0ll3d da forumz ![]() Like the train spotter I almost am, I memorize the forum numbers. GD is #22, Chatter #55. Of course any fule know #44 is Movies. So I've posted "Secret forum!" on GD, to make a daft joke about "moving this thread to Chatter". I know how to write a headline, so "Secret forum!" gets the eyeballs ... now it's a bloodbath in there!
