Nope, the cooling fan cools the pc down and sends warm air into the bedroom... which being a small and confined space, becomes Very Warm Indeed.

Scored an Alcatel smartphone (OT 903) brand new for £30 including £10 top up, from www.carphonewarehouse.com .
![]() How I managed that, I'll never know, as the standard CPW price is £40 + £10 top up. http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/pay...go/deal-finder (arrange/sort by phone cost) http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_nr_...nid=1632651031 ETA. It went along the lines that I phoned them up regarding a PAYG upgrade from my existing cheap phone and the lady operator said we can sell it to you at the price above (£30), even though I don't have to exchange my existing mobile or relinquish the existing credit. So, not only will the new phone be unlocked, I can transfer the £10 credit from the new SIM card to my existing SIM card by phoning up Vodafone. |

Hello everyone, having read all 87 pages I feel like a know you all a little bit, it's taken me a week to get though these pages, so don't think I can get through parts 1-17.
jra, that sounds like a really good deal. Its Friday at least that's something to be hopeful about but then Monday comes round all too fast. Not much to grump about apart from i'm so hungry damn saying no to lard is so not fair, but needs must *hugh sigh*. Anyway hope its okay for me to post and look forward to reading many more grumpy days (well hopefully not too grumpy). |

Hi Sk and other peeps.
I wish I could say no to lard. I am currently saying no to grapes - have managed 35 hours so far - and hopefully that will help me to shed some extra pounds. We're away this Saturday. Fortunately only to Cornwall so I won't need to worry about fitting into a bikini. I don't have one anyway. |

Wotcha, chaps - back from hols and just about sorted out.
Hi, Sydney - welcome to the GoW; I'm well impressed by the homework! ![]() I have been saying no to lard in a limited way for the last few weeks and have lost a paltry four and a half pounds, but am quite pleased with my efforts. I've found that using one of those apps which calculates your calories and tells you how many you have left is pretty useful; the GP recommended a 1500 per day limit to see good results and I give myself a day off every week. Occasionally two days off if I feel like it. Seems to have worked so far. Tips: Lots of extra veggies to fill up on Low carb, high protein If you fancy something, have a bit, then distract yourself so you don't have a load more bits (!) Move around a lot! Still mental busy here - wedding at the weekend, couple of days out the next week ![]() Then new kittens the weekend after that And finances to sort, as I get my last ever pay-slip from my old school at the end of the month. That might be a say yes to lard day... |

Greetings, chums!
I've just been getting all a bit emotional (how unlike me! ) as I've tried to calculate my degree classification - there is a very good chance that I could get a first overall! And at the least it will be a 2:1 which is still ace but It's been a hard old slog over four years to get here as many of you know - especially after last year's awful placement disaster which nearly finished me off...! I am sat in a little disbelief thinking not only am I here I've done the last ten seconds of the last round of the fight the bell has gone and I have won! and by golly I might just pull off a first too In the light of my family's absence - well you know the score - I wanted to come here and share this with you as you've all been around me for encouragement and support when times were tough you're all ace god bless and thank you

The cricket match at the Oval was great. The weather was perfect. Derbyshire vs Surrey 40/40 overs. Surrey won on the very last ball, where they needed 2 runs to win and scored a 4. I met my best friend on a train into London and we proceeded to the venue via Elephant & Castle and the Northern Line tube to the Oval. I was also given a guided tour of the Oval members area, during the interval between innings. There were 7 of us including mutual friends. All in all, a great day out for less than a score (Cockney for £20). http://www.ecb.co.uk/scorecard/35196 House clearance. A days work involving 5 trips to the local recycling centre. The two of us removed 60 black bin bags of rubbish aka crap, plus 5 carpets/underlay, 1 vinyl covering and had to make 5 trips to the local recycling centre with an estate car packed fully. The whole house needs a major refurbishment. There is no electricity or gas there at present. The water is still on, but there are at least 4 water leaks, 2 from radiators and 2 from the washing machine plumbing. To do list, in that place (and probably not complete). At least 5 carpets fitted (3 in rooms, 2 on staircases). Either that or laminated flooring. A complete repaint from top to bottom of the 3 floor building. The gas boiler needs testing and a certificate issued. At least 3 beds and mattresses installed. A number of wardrobes and chests of drawers installed. An electrician to check and fix all the electrics, as some of the plug sockets are damaged and/or hanging off for example, plus what looks like dodgy wiring. The gas meter checked (fitted on the first floor ), as it looks like a death trap.A deep clean of the whole house, to get rid off all the mouse and rat shit, amongst other things. A pest controller to rid the property of mice and rats. A new front door. The repair of at least two inside doors, which are damaged (one is hanging on 1 hinge and the other you can see through, even though it is solid wood in construction). A new bath and toilet. A new washing machine and fridge freezer installed. A plumber to fix the plumbing. A carpenter to fix various wood damage. A plasterer. The outside TV aerial has fallen down. The guttering is blocked. The list is endless. ![]() I've never seen anything like it IRL. Think 'Grime Busters' and you're in the right ball park. One bad event, is my friend got pierced by a hypodermic needle, drawing blood, even though he was wearing gloves. Sorry, if I've rambled on a bit, but you had to be there to see this place. |

At the moment, I'm overwhelmed by the number of features and settings on the phone. It took me long enough to switch it on and take off the back cover.

New kittens??
Do you have any plans for this/next month? Supply? Us being us, we met some kits on the farm where we stayed on holiday, and all being well we are collecting them onvthe 24th... one fluffy dark tortie and one tabby. When we get them they'll be about eight or nine weeks. V. excited... ![]() And yes, supply is the plan, though if I found a full time main scale post in a few months I'd be open to the possibility. I'm sad about leaving the old place as I was very fond of it and had a lot of history there... but I'm looking forward to some new stuff too! Mal - woooooooot! \0/ \0/ ![]() I got a 2.1... Seriously, what you've achieved is amazing. You go, girl!

Oh Handy, that makes me so sad - Isa got knocked down in front of us a couple of weeks ago; shocking and devasting, but now Bella has not come home for over five days now which is not un-typical for her summer bahaviour but it makes me wonder if she has succumbed to something awful or if she's just buggered off as Isa has gone. They never were the best of friends but had been 'companions' for nearly ten years. I'm so sad about them both!
