I honestly didn't notice! It seems Chatter doesn't count.

Today I have been mostly on the side of teachers and firefighters, but against living in la-la land.

I've got one of those and it's never been used. Gulp. I might have to resign my GOW membership.

Back from a week in Devon with dad this Monday.

Trains on time. Sat in the entertainment carriage both ways. Was able to see how fast the train was running. Reached up to 108 mph between Totnes and Reading (both ways), up to 125 mph between Reading and London (both ways).

Picked mushrooms from the field opposite the house. Delicious. Ate three large helpings.

Garden grown raspberries. Again delicious.

Fish and chips at the Start Bay Inn.

Saw Dartmouth and Slapton Sands/Slapton Lea.

Got a Times Atlas Of The World worth £90 as a present.

Got an 8 button Logitech mouse as a present.

Got a pair of binoculars as a present.

Got drunk in London at The Rocket near St. Pancras International rail station.

Didn't meet L***** there, but saw my girlfriend Alexandra that evening.

Good times.

Cor, jra, that sounds fabby!
Glad you had a good time!

I finished my paperwork like a good lass (thanks for the tip, there, batty! ) and then spent a day reclaiming the kitchen (again!) and a day taking Melony swimming for her Day Off School yesterday.

Back to normal today for everyone, though I'm not sure what that is at the moment, tbh!

Loving Batty's paperwork tips

Welcome home jra.

Here, I am mostly procrastinating. This because my work plans for the today have been stuffed my Mr Sad changing the arrangements that HE had previously insisted on. (quote 'No I don't want to pick the daughter up on Wednesday evening, I've taken Thursday off and I will go down in the morning so I don't have to have a late night, bring her back for her doctor's appointment and you can take her home after dinner' - in response to her asking if she could come up the night before her appointment). I now look like the Bad Guy because I had been previously tasked with telling our daughter that it wasn't possible to do what he has now - this afternoon!!! - arranged to do, AND I resent the assumption that I would just be siting here twiddling my thumbs, waiting to cry 'How high?' when he said 'Jump!'. This makes me very grumpy.

It's also meant me cancelling alternate plans I had made, and I have had to change sheets and tidy stuff away AND cart all sorts of boxes downstairs into the bargain. So yeah, thanks for that darling. I'll get even

[/rant]

Talking about atlases, this has to be the bargain of the year.

A £90 atlas in very good condition for just over £3, delivered by courier this morning. Also, it's the latest edition.

I love that name. Very cool.

I'm in paperwork hell and not even at home, so I'm having to rely on what I've brought with me. No biscuits in the house, but I do have a massive tub of ice cream. I firmly believe that if I eat it everything will be alright.

Thanks. She's from Malaga (Spain) originally.

The expression 'get on, like a house on fire', springs to mind.

No new hats for the time being. She's 26 years younger than me as well.

Marriage for me is not on the agenda.

Like you say, it's still early days, so who knows what might happen.

Wotcha, chaps!

Sending you spousal vibes, Sad.
Hit him with a frying pan!

jra, that's good to hear. Age means nothing!

batty, I knoiw the feeling. What flavour was the ice-cream?

Here, as I suspected it might, everything just went mental on the job-front.
My DBS (new name for the CRB) is still with the poliss checking stage, but I have...
a) an interview to do maternity cover for a Drama teacher (50 minute drive to the West) on Tuesday... at 8AM!!!
b) the possiblility of maternity cover for an English teacher (45 minute drive to the North and East) - chat on Monday lunchtime
c) the offer of maths tutoring (!) in a behavioural unit - lol!

...blimey!

*disapears into a pile of PowerPoints*

*emerges briefly* - oh yes - and I'll have to wash the kitchen floor, cos one of the cats pooed in my recycling bag. Yuk!
Three weeks till bollock-chopping-off time and then they can go and poo in the field out the back!

Well, it had to be done (again).

Two masterpieces here.
The Class 43 HST and the line built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Paddington to Reading - First Great Western HST - December 2011
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frHQ7eXBbEo

The line built way back in 1838-1840 is capable with relatively minor upgrades of running tilting trains up to TGV speeds (186 mph).

I'm a very naughty boy. There is a very lovely and sexy black lady sitting right next to me now talking to her friend. So apropos of nothing I just asked her where a local street is just so I could see her face.
