Anyone else find it incredibly annoying when Sharon Watts constantly says "Denny" in such a pathetic way to her lad at every opportunity?

It was more annoying during her first few weeks back when she was saying it in every scene. Now Denny is appearing less it's becoming more bearable. Still wish she would stop treating him like a baby though he is six years old, Sharon needs to get a grip, I thought she was made of stronger stuff than this. You would not think she was Sharon Watts daughter of Den and Angie, if Den was around now he would give her a slap for her own good and tell her to get a grip.

No. It's a silly name, if he's actually called "Denny" but of course she's going to say it often, it's his name?

Fair point and I do agree, the baby talk nonsense is extremely irritating!

Her voice is annoying full stop.

Her seuctive voice for Jack, her bitchy voice for the women and her syrupy voice for Denny baby.

Not me Dennis makes me think of Dennis Rickman. Denny reminds me of the nickname often given to Den Watts by various people in the 80s. As for all the babying some parents are like that and Sharon was often like that with Vicki in the 90s. No doubt Denny will grow up and rebel and I would far rather watch him then odious Tiffany.

I can understand why she treats him a bit like a baby.. For a start, she thought she couldn't have kid, so Denny is her 'miracle child', add the fact that she's had to basically bring him up single handed with little support. I think she's done a good job, from what we've seen of him he's polite and well spoken.

I always curse at the TV when she says that and say; "Christ just call him Dennis already"!

They could have tried casting someone who at least could have resembled Dennis as a kid. Denny makes him sound like a baby.

Did you feel the same when Pat called Den Watts that? I loved that he inherited his grandfathers nickname. We called him dirty Den but he was never called that on the show but a few in the 80s and couple of times 00s stint he was called Denny.
Why should he look like Dennis? Not all kids look like their fathers. He he looks more like his mother even the heartshaped faces especially the lower half as the same. So he takes after his mother more.

Denny (Harry Hickles) was a great casting - he is totally believable as Sharon's son. He's a great little actor as well imo.

Why? Not all boys look like their fathers and not all girls look like their mothers. Physically, I find him extremely believable as Sharon's child.

Though I did love in all of Sharon's dramas she managed to get him a hair cut. I never had a issue with his hair but it was funny that onscreen she is packing her bags and the actor had his hair cut.

I think so too...I think he delivers his lines well, and he has decent facial expressions. I think they did well there.

To be fair for a child that age the reveal of his mother's lie is quite a hard one to act out. It was written well and although I have given him stick credit where it is due I believe it made sense. The fact he was upset he had been lied too but although he understood some of it, it was clear he did not understand all of it. I have a child around this age and I thought it was very believable. He is clearly bright for his age and I wonder if he will rebel later on.

The way Sharon says 'Denny' makes my teeth itch. There's just something about it.

I would suggest you see a dentist that could be a sign of nerve damage or worse gum disease. People always think it is pain but odd sensations not just pain can mean all sorts.

Its not the denny bit that annoys me its her calling him baby in that silly voice, tbh I just always think of Ronni Ancona's Sharon impression, she was spot on.
