Is it me or did anyone find it abrupt? Like there was no build up to it or even like a proper exit.

Both her and Andrew just suddenly went. Andrew stuck around a bit longer for the reveal of Ben being the murderer, but I think they were both victims of Lorraine Newman changing Kirkwood's plans.

You're likely right. Just felt too sudden. I remember originally, it was reported the actor who plays Andrew has signed a contract for a year.

I suspect we will either never see Rose again or she will an occasional recurring character.I initially liked the Cora Dot Rose scenes but it soon began to jar to be fully honest about it.Perhaps it was the way they were written?Perhaps it was the actress or perhaps that blend of actors didnt work?I found that June Brown who plays Dot become awfully hammy everytime she had a scene with Polly Perkins who played Rose.

That may of been on purpose as Dot has never approved of what Rose does and have had so much of their differences of the years. So it was likely the body language of Dot, not June.

I felt that when there were scenes with all 3 including Ann Mitchell who plays Cora the hamminess dialled down a bit so im not sure if it was supposed to always sound so hammy.It was cringe at times.

Rose suddenly leaving one day without any kind of storyline or build up was most bizarre. Also another strange thing about it was they never announced she was leaving until about a week before it was shown onscreen, and even then the only reason it was confirmed was because June Brown let slip in an interview that Polly Perkins had left. TPTB didnt even see fit to release a statement saying she was off until after June had said it.

Ricky and Janes departures were not well handled either in terms of how honestly they were announced.Its very possible that even now there are characters axed or leaving and it just hasnt been announced.

funny how these charcters had such a short amount of time yet one charcter that is 'taking a break' announced it a few months ago and she isnt even going til around may time

I thought Jane's exit had a built up with the whole moving up to Cardiff.

Ricky's one suprised me. Him and Bianca splitting up and seeing him get on the train. Really didn't see that coming. It was announced last year he was taking time out to do charity work and then it was confirmed he was coming back at xmas with Bianca, but left shortly after Pat's funeral.

I do wonder what the point in keeping Dot around for is if they keep getting rid of everyone she interacts with. She really has no reason to live on the Square anymore.

I am sure they having something in the pipeline. Bringing Rose into her life for me never made a difference but i loved Dot's scenes with Cora. Knowing Dot, she'll be the shoulder to cry on when the brannings drama happens at christmas.
