I was so happy. Normally on this show they get the gay contestants to sing about the opposite sex and pretend their sexuality doesn't exist. It meant a lot to have her being truthful and it not being a big novelty or joke (ie Johnny, Rylan).

It is a step forward but there's still quite a double standard. With the male gay contestants still having female backing dancers and singing to women and even with the super camp acts no reference to their sexuality is made.
