It's such uncomfortable viewing!
How is it possible to become a successful artist or, more specifically performer if you're that uncomfortable in your own skin? I just saw him on Xtra Factor, wth I didn't think it was that bad! |

I kinda think it's cute his awkwardness.
I just wish he hadn't mentioned his nervous laugh, because I notice it so much more now! |

Yes it is very annoying, especially as his laugh is a note for note copy everytime. It sounds like a little riff he he he. But the lad can't exactly help it, probably nobody has ever challenged him on it so how would he know it's slightly off putting. He seems nice and I really do want to see him get over his insecurities.

I think his confidence will grow with each week. It takes a lot of guts to go on stage in front of thousands of people and on national tv and sing. As well as to have your character and every action you make criticized every min. I know I couldn't do it and I'm not socially awkward.
I think he's got a lot of guts and I love his voice. I think he's really sweet and it makes me root for him. I think that with a voice like that it would be such a shame if he hadn't have auditioned and had carried on working in Asda, a huge waste of tallent. |

Just read that article in the Sun about his dad and his early life. My heart goes out to him. Sounds like he's been to hell and back, and if it's true, it really explains why he's so shy.
He has an amazing voice and I hope he does really well. |

He's very endearing.
And as someone said earlier - to have stayed in Asda with a voice like that would have been a shame. I'm so glad he is in the live shows. The winner for me.

Love Jahmene, love his voice, love his personality.
As someone who struggled with confidence before I find his awkwardness very relatable. I used to have that nervous laugh as well, except mine was less hehehe, more HAHAHARGRGGH

Does anyone remember how nervous Leona Lewis was when she started out on the X Factor? She overcame it - ok she's not loud and bubbly but you don't have to be.
I'm sure that they will work on his confidence - the further into the competition he gets, the more experience he will gain, and hopefully the more he will warm to the audience. I'd like him to sing something a little more upbeat though... |

Leave the poor lad alone. It's a nervous laugh.
My daughter is exactly the same. She does a little giggle after she speaks sometimes. Mostly when she's not sure of herself/what she's saying, what other people will think of what she's saying. I can't imagine what she'd be like in front of thousands of people. Would much prefer his little giggles than Rylans cocky attitude. |
