Just watching x-factor on +1 and part way through rylans turn they stopped the show, put up a message saying that they cannot show for legal reasons.

What happened?

Maybe they didn't the rights for a song or something?

It was only about 20 seconds of the song, can't remember exactly which one of his songs it was though.

not blocked on youtube, assume its a song they didnt have right for, nothing he did seemed to warrant being blocked, more than the rest of the performance

It was so crap it's deemed as torture and OFCOM pulled it

Technotronic clearly tried to minimise the damage as soon as they could.

the riff between gangnam style and pump up the jam is very similar - its even mentioned on the wiki page, i smell the threat of a lawsuit against gangnam style

I suppose if i was a songwriter i wouldn't want one of my songs used in a joke section.

i can only assume that performance rights have been removed, or there is a legal issue with performing Gangnam style....so that must mean he goes straight though. If i was an xfactor producer I'd be horrified about the amount of publicity this will generate

Just going to put it out there that this deserves viewer complaints. It puts Rylan at a disadvantage as he will have had less exposure and some people wont have seen the performance he is supposed to be judged on. Or as I'm sure some people will argue, at an advantage as people didn't see that performance!

I'd give them 10/10 for creativity for this one though, not clearing song rights would be a new one.

On ITV +1 it did show the end of the performance but only skipped out about 20 seconds. I rewound to see what was going on but didn't think to record grr.

I think people not hearing the performance actually puts Rylan at the advantage.
