Samsung SMT - S7800

For the past 2 nights I have recoded Million Pound Drop and on both occasions have had the recoding stop before the end of the programme.

Is there a way of extending the length of recording for any programme? or of telling the box to record up to the end of the broadcast - even if it over runs?

Thank in advance for any help offered

Mike

Not afaik. Samsung bizarrely believe all Freesat broadcasters use accurate control (properly) or stick rigidly to epg scheduled times. Hence no padding or manual timers

Thanks for the reply - have to say that it's disappointing though, my Sky Box would cope with any overruns no problem

The start recording and end recording system used by Sky afaik is different and may be managed by Sky and not down to individual broadcasters (pure speculation). Generally the BBC ITV and Channel 4 work pretty reliably, Channel 5 and lots of the others much less so. All I can suggest is you try and pressure Samsung to offer either a autopad option or manual repeating timers (preferably both). Both lack of usb archiving and no manual options have been long criticised since the pvr was launched. For heavens sake the Foxsat-hdr launched in 2008 had both from day one.

Also avoid recording the ITV +1 channels which don't seem to transmit the accurate start signal.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I was aware, Sky doesn't tx programme start signals at all ???

Sky boxes allow a flexible setting of margins at the beginning and end of programmes (which can cause issues when trying to record adjacent programmes at the same time on multiple channels).

Have they started broadcasting actual start/end signals???
