Why did Simon abandon X Factor UK?
The show is dying on it's arse without him, it was beaten by Strictly again last night. The judging panel is terrible now, there's no chemistry between them. I don't see why he can't do both XFUK and XFUSA, he managed to combine XF and American Idol for years? XFUSA hasn't really taken off, so you'd think he'd cut his losses and return home. He really shouldn't turn his back on the UK, but that's what it feels like to me. Talk about forgetting where you came from.

He had XF, BGT and American Idol. The 'idol' live shows were weeks before BGT's.
I think if XFUSA fails to take off, he'll be back. |

I don't think the judging is terrible, and actually I think Nicole and Gary have a good relationship. Some of the looks she gives him are really comical and he has this wry smile when she does it.
Tulisa and Louis I could live without but to be fair I'd rather see them than Cheryl or Sharon. Simon probably prefers to stay in the US because it's easier for him to pop out and have plastic surgery in between episodes. |

Also, you say he could do both. Technically, he could. He could do USA on Wed/Thurs (Anyone know why it airs on weekdays? I understand the UK showings of it airing on weekdays but its the same in America! Seems odd?) and fly back on Friday for the UK shows. However, as well as putting a lot of stress on him and being potentially dangerous to his health, it would also damage both shows. He'd miss rehearsals and most importantly he'd have no time for his acts on either show as he'd be of busy all of the time. So no, he hasn't forgot where he came from and he shouldn't do both shows. |

I watched the US X Factor last night (I'll be watching last night's X Factor/Xtra Factor tonight) and I have to say I'm not enjoying it. Britney Spears is not right for that show at all.

I'm not sure. Maybe because it is one of a number of incredibly vile programmes on TV that invite people to judge others on their appearance rather than ability and that concentrate entirely on surface rather than substance.

Because he could probably make about 10 times the money in the USA if it was a success there.
I dont know if it is but it doesnt sound like it from here. He should come back next year and him, Louis, Barlow, Cole and Tulisa should be the judges. Have 5 groups of people. |

Have you actually watched this year? If not, you can't make that comment. It's much better this year. Just because the ratings aren't as good as they'd hoped doesn't mean the show is a mess; it simply hasn't recovered from last years bad start.
secondly, the US version is extremely bad. I have had to fast forward through the intros/interludes etc because it is so cringeworthy that i feel embarassed to be watching it! The editing is ridiculous, one minute Britney is sucking on her coke, the next she is fake smiling at the contestant! ...and don't get me started on the Trevor medical emergency bollox! |

Unlike XFUK and Idol, XFUK and XFUS are airing at exactly the same time which is why he can't do both. Even if he did fly back and forth (which is impractical anyway) there's very little chance that FOX would let him. He was supposedly open to doing XF UK if it didn't clash but ITV said no.

It was the fact David and Michael didn't work as judges on BGT in 2011, why he came back this year.

I find it much more watchable with him gone - I think he's genuinely a horrible, repugnant person.

He took half of the panel and half of the producers to America, lost Dannii Minogue somewhere in the process and assumed that a show that has been built in the UK over 7 years would work straight away in the US. It didn't. The ultimate irony is, he could 'rescue' the show by returning to the UK to sit alongside Nicole- half of the original US panel that flopped.
