The producers / researchers audition and then only some are put in front of the celebrity judges. Others are invited to audition when seen online or in clubs etc. |

They've always invited people to audition.
District 3 had a massive twitter following and used to trend frequently before X Factor even aired, they were probably invited. They still have to audition, go to judges/bootcamp and preform every week. |

Someone will dramatically fall out with someone else, but in reality this will be as dramatic as wondering if it will rain the moment you put the washing on a clothes line...so, not very.
Someone will be 'romantically linked' with someone else on the programme and the general public stifle a yawn Someone will be 'romantically linked' with someone from another programme, and who is equally desperate for fame Someone will be voted out, then brought back in, causing no end of publicity and mass faux public 'outrage' That same person will then be voted out the following week and no one will bat an eyelid Someone will be accused of a) racism, b) homophobia, c) hetrophobia, or d) leaving a 'floater' in the contestant's shared toilet But then, as Harry Hill would say..."What are the chances?" |

This is always the case. A family friend got through to bootcamp a few years back and he had to perform in front of 2 different producers as well as a panel before actually going to sing in front of the judges. The X Factor make it sound like the judges see hundreds of thousands of people, but in reality they see a few hundred (same goes for BGT). |

I'm waiting for the "diverse" and "arrogance" attack which happens every year around week 6. They pick a finalist and tell them how wonderful they are for a few weeks. Then they tell them they are over confident and need to make sure they aren't being arrogant and to tone it down a bit. Then the following week they tell them they have lost their "mojo" "personality" etc whats happened to them one year it was MishaB another year Laura White always someone who is considered a fav at the beginning. The most damming example of this was the schoolteacher who was targeted.
