Theyre all amateurs compared to her, and I was initally rooting for MK3

Ella is a good vocalist - but something irritates me about her. I cant put my finger on it. |

Just doesn't connect, and so perfectly pointless to me as a singer. Standing there last night performing those strings of la-la-las one after another with as much commitment as someone who'd done her morning's work and had to hang around for another five minutes before the buzzer went and she could go get some lunch, in a song that's nothing without emotional investment. Okay, so the VT explained that she had never been in love. So maybe she should have been given a song she could relate to, immaturity notwithstanding. I don't know. But singing that's just about hitting notes is as much a waste of time to me as a painting conceived with the aim of putting as many colours as possible on the canvas.
That's where I'm coming from, I don't dislike her, I just don't get what performances like hers are for, even before the hype starts up. Other folks very evidently differ. |

Mel could sing her off the stage. Especially last night, her high note was a failure that everyone pretended she managed to pull off, for some reason.

No she isn't. There are at least 5 past contestants who drag her through the dirt.

She is dead behind the eyes, as interesting as a tablecloth and conveys absolutely nothing when she sings. The performance last night was hideous, as those high notes were nothing like what they should have been.
Jade slays her in every respect tbh. |

i think shes got a huge amount of potential but dont think shes close to the finished article yet , but at 16 you cant really expect her to be
she doesn't really perform the songs as songs imo but more as a technical exercise to show off her voice its one thing i dislike about these shows, and xfactor usa is worse with the age limit being even lower, they get contestants who are too young, expose them too early to the sort of attention they get and then wonder why they never develop properly after the show is over |

Yeah, she's got massive potential; especially at the age she's at. In terms of vocal ability, I would say it's a battle between Melanie and Ella for the best vocalist in the competition.

Yes, Melanie and Jade both inhabit whatever they sing. Personally I think Melanie edges it, but I can well understand anyone favouring Jade. Cher Lloyd, love her or loathe her, turned up at 17 ready to take on the show and whatever the music industry could throw at her. Ella doesn't seem ready at all.
