So it's looking VERY unlikely that an over will win...

I actually thought they would 'push' the overs this year (similar to the groups last years)..they had a good amount of airtime during bootcamp and JH (Carolynne in particular) but now only 2 remain...

I don't see Kye or Chris making the final, there are stronger acts with much more commercial appeal and bigger fanbases.

I think (and hope) Kye is the last over standing...but I doubt he will make the final.

Bump.......what does everyone think?

I'm surprised because at the start of the lives I thought the overs were one of the stronger categories this year and it has just been a disappointment. Carolynne was great as was Melanie. Kye has gone down in my estimations as has Chris. I don't think Gary will have a chance this year, unless Kye has a really good performance next week and really pushes the two of them this week.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them is in the bottom two next week!

I think it's a two horse race between Ella and Jade anyway.

They will never tolerate a woman from the overs winning. You only have to look at how hard they worked to undermine Mary Byrne's vote and get her out before the final to see that.

The strongest categories in the earlier rounds always falter in the live shows. The only time I can think when this didn't happen was in series 5 with Cheryl's girls. Its usually the 'middle' contestants in the early live shows that go the furthest, so you could be looking at Jade, Union J etc.

I don't think that was anything personal against Mary, she did really well in terms of votes, running order and comments. But they really pushed Cher that year, so whoever was left was always getting shafted against her.

I think the show is reflecting society's attitiude to women over a certain age.

In earlier shows you had Brenda and Nicki Evans reaching fourth place, and Mary Bryne in 2010 also 4th place.

But in the TOWIE/BB culture of 2012, women over 40 have no chance it seems.

Depressing.

Brenda and Nicki entered in a different climate of X Factor. Back then it was much more of a karaoke competition and those types of singers do well, these days they gear it towards a younger audience and push people who could at least be a one hit wonder. The Brenda and Nicki types are now cruise ship singers.

This is what I believe too, basically if you're past 30 you have had it in the showbiz industry if you haven't made it already, and its ten times harder for women, very sad. Look what happened to steve brokstein too, I know he won, but he stood no chance in the industry.

Blame the 'great' British public for that one. He has such a slappable face, I can't wait until he's in the bottom 2.

Chris might just go on and win it.

My theory is that by week 2, Chris was so far in the lead they decided to ditch Kye as Gary was only ever going to have one act by early November - his solo tour starting. By week 5 it felt like a deliberate de-rail re Kye, VT, bland song and ok comments.

Wildcard really ruined this series IMHO.
