Not enough bits, that's for sure.

Ooooooh, that's when things get even more interesting! Have fun.
Thank you It's a wonderful bit of soapiness.

Hey, Paddy gets to spend all his time with Eileen, should be grateful. Brendo is a bad influence.
Eileen does like her booze though

Not enough bits, that's for sure.
You filthy Barry fan.

Hoping for some surprise Ste tonight. I know we have some tomorrow, but it's just too far away.

ETA: Do Joel and Theresa know the holiday home was blown up and Brendan nearly died? Or will they think they'll return to psycho Brendan?

I think there's so much potential in exploring Thomas's life as a gay man in the days when homosexual acts were illegal, but Downton doesn't seem to want to go there. Someone should make a drama about it, set any time before Wolfenden.

ETA Brendan is the sex.

I find it funny that out of most shows on British TV, Hollyoaks is the one out of a small group that is the best for showing what gay men are actually like, yet it's on much earlier. They don't just peck each other on the lips and never have sex which other shows seem to try and interpret

Downton annoys me. I really think it's massively overhyped, and even when it was at its best in Series 1, there are so many more better period dramas out there.

And Thomas is easily one of the more interesting characters, and the poor man hasn't got any in over five years now.

I don't think they have a clue!

Well...I can think of an exception

I think it's because it's so soapy. I watched series one but was so unfussed I never bothered with the rest.

A rough-hewn Irishman arrives in London, fresh from an arduous time served in prison for performing lewd acts.

Simultaneously, a beautiful young man escapes his repressive family in Manchester, and winds up in London hoping that the stories he's heard are true.

Both of them find themselves at an underground club in Soho where people like them can meet in secret. It's run by a tall, floppy-haired creature of the night, who knows enough about the many habitues of his club to blackmail them, should he choose to do so.

I've pretty much given up on this series. Series 2 was so ridiculous - the jumping the shark moment was when a paralysed Matthew managed to stand just because he was surprised by something.

Yes, it's so true. They should be proud of themselves for that. They've gone much further than most shows have.

Genuinely perfect. And I can think of some flawless casting choices .

I'd rather they pecked all the time.

Trying to snog someone whilst there is no passion just makes it more awkward

Heck, we got Bralker. Might be in a late night, but still, not many shows would show what HO did.

Stug kisses are gross.
And what really makes my skin crawl is the fact that they try so hard to show them as a passionate young couple, and yet they only manage to make them seem even more awkward

For a soap it was pretty full on, especially as it was showing a gay relationship.

The worst one has gotta be the shirt opening one on the sofa which Leanne thankfully put a stop too, just ugh.

The Bralker sex scene wasn't explicit, but it was brilliantly made so you knew exactly what was going on. It didn't need to show anybody's bits, it wouldn't have had any more impact if it had, because the impact was all about the fcuked-up dynamic between the two of them and the flashforward to Simon's traumatised reaction to it.

I think in general, sex on (mainstream) tv is far less explicit than it used to be. I doubt if some scenes that were in QAF would ever even be suggested now.

Yes, it wasn't meant to be something romantic. It was centred all around Walker's point of view and how much he hated it, so it was much more concentrated on his reaction rather than the actual sex.

I know, sometimes it seems there might be more furore over gay sex scenes these days than there were in the 90s.

Bralker wasn't graphic at all... (and that's a good thing, 'cause it wasn't supposed to be something sexy)
They didn't even show a bit of nudity, and we didn't see any thrusting/didn't hear any moans and things like that. Thank Christ for that With the way ES and the writers were going on about their sex scene I was expecting a porno
Theresa and Joel's sex scene was pretty disappointing as well... it was over in a instant, and I didn't hear/see anything except a flash of their bums
Obviously I do realise that this is a soap, but if they had the guts to show a man cutting off feet and hands from a dead body surely they could have been more graphic with the sex scenes.
