I loved Il Gnosh but I don't see him changing it back, I think that chapter has closed. Also, he probably wouldn't be able to afford to change it back to the resturant (the gym is also bigger? Seems to be longer than when it was Il Gnosh).

Thats because Il Gnosh and Drive and Buy were together but then there was the fire that lead to Drive and Buy becoming priceslice and moving to Evissas space

I think it will eventually change from being a gym. They don't seem to be able to get many scenes out of the gym whereas a restaurant they can get lots of scenes like they used to.

I would rather see the return of a restaurant.

Ahhhhh thanks for that

I think it will change from the gym eventually (wherever the money comes from) but I don't think it will be a resturant, they already have Carter and Hay and College Coffee, those are kind of food places where people can sit down. I wonder what they can do...

If they change it again that would be a huge waste of money on set design, surely? I thought it looked fabulous when it was Look Sharpe/Cinergy, then they revamped it all again into Attwell's. I can see a name change but not a major redesign, so I'm guessing it'll stay as a gym/salon type set. Besides, they already have three places characters can sit at a table and have a drink at, plus two of those serve food. They wouldn't really gain any benefit for having another restaurant, because it wouldn't really add any value to scenes.

I maybe wrong but did Ash do a dodgy deal to get it and was left bankrupt or something.. it was all very weird and Ravi had his amnesia but they tried to get rid of the whole family and forget their existance quite quickly if i remember.

But Coffee Cup is where Relish once was and before that it was the playground for Grange hill

Yeah, Relish was where College Coffee is now, next to SU Bar and opposite the construction site for Hollyoaks High School.

Didn't Dom or Tony own it and then Dom went to prison? I think Dom set it on fire or something for insurance money and then got found out. Tony went bankrupt as a result.

It was Il Gnosh that he set on fire, under Warren's recommendation as it was struggling. That was about 2 years ago. Dom owned up soon after and hasn't been seen since. Presume he got a few years for arson, insurance fraud attempt and maybe manslaughter? It was never really followed up as it was more about getting rid of Dom, Steph, Mal and Amy at the time. Amy's death was edited out at the last minute though as things had changed behind the scenes.

As for my previous message on this thread, after tonights E4 cliffhanger I might have to take it back... maybe they will open a restaurant after all?

The Octagon became MOOBS, which then closed down when College Coffee opened as they couldn't compete, and in January 2012 it became the Florist.

Yep, it's the Florist. Some structural changes were made to the Octagon though - adding windows and whatnot. The following is a model of the basic look of it:

http://www.heathermunro.co.uk/#!Holl.../ckra/imageodc

EDIT: Although that model doesn't show the "Fountain of Reflection" or the bus stop... so whether it's just upcoming changes or just inaccurate, I can't be sure.

Out of interest, I suggested to the Hollyoaks Digital Team today that some good web content would be a map of the village (obviously not 100% accurate as it's not all plonked together on set) but accurate enough to be able to show all of the buildings, homes, etc as if it was a real layout. You could click each building to see what it has been in the past, who worked there, who lived where, etc. But something like that might be just suited to the more detailed fansites (of which Hollyoaks is SEVERELY lacking a decent one for!)

Something like this for Hollyoaks, for example, would be lovely:

EDIT:

Here's one I *attempted* to start work on the basic layout for... sort of based on the locations of the places on the actual Lime Pictures premises with a few modifications:
