If the England game is tomorrow at 8pm they would probably start Emmerdale at 6.45pm.
What would take precedence a live international England football match of a live edition of soap opera that regularly gets over 5 million views? As Emmerdale will be live you cannot put it live on ITV2 and they wouldn't put a competitive live England game on ITV2 either. |

What's the problem? The Emmerdale episode will be finished before 8pm.
Anyway is the football not on tonight? Emmerdale - The Fallout will be live on ITV2 at 8pm tomorrow as well. |

As they know well in advance when they are going to show a game it wouldn't be an issue.

I doubt they would even take Emmerdale into consideration

Emmerdale has more of a chance pulling in a bigger rating than the Football and seeing as advertising is what makes the money for ITV then they would take Emmerdale into account |
