Are people ACTUALLY serious??
Luckilly Emmerdale has been saved tomorrow night and the Football is also on. But I just can't understand people's logic behind thinking Emmerdale is more important than a world cup qualifier?
My favourite programme is Doctor Who and my most hated sport that commonly appears on TV is Tennis. However if Doctor Who was pulled off to make way for tennis I'd totally understand. |

I think the emmerdale live episode is more important than a game of football. Just my opinion, sports channels do exist

I just wanted people's opinion...I honestly don't see how you can put a fictional drama before a national sporting event.

Cause not everyone is a football fan or care about the world cup we are not likely to win.
and its the soap 40th and a live episode that's the reason. |

Sports channels do excist but what of those of us who can't afford them? Why can't Emmerdale just be moved to another channel then? |

I'm not sure. I'll have to check.
Am I ACTUALLY serious? Hmmm......I consider myself serious some of the time, but how can I know if I am ACTUALLY serious? How can any of us know. Descartes famously wrote 'I think, therefore I am', meaning that the mere act of pondering ones own existence is proof enough of that existence, but can we be certain? I hope I am ACTUAL. Being fictional would be weird. |

The Emmerdale cast and crew have spent months putting a lot of effort into making sure the episode runs smoothly. I know that if I were part of the crew I'd be peeved if the hard work was put into chaos just so that a load of idiots can chase a ball for 90 minutes.

I'm just shocked that anyone even cared about Emmerdale in the first place.

people why is emmerdale Superior to football? give me a valid argument the world cup was founded in 1930 and has a huge following surely they have as much as right as soap viewers to enjoy it.. im not a huge fan of football but some people think the channels should revolve around soaps.. |

It can, in happy to watch on whatever channel they put it on. As long as my programmes aren't interrupted for a measly game of football I don't care.

I think it was just that kind of reaction because its a live ep.
Normal eps being moved doesn't bother me as so many ways to watch nowdays, +1, iplayer etc |

You CAN'T call a national team playing in a competitive game measly when comparing it to a soap (which is only the 3rd best soap in the country anyway)...You just can't....

Like I said, I don't care about Tennis but if an Englishman was playing at Wimbledon and Doctor Who got taken off for it I'd understand because it'd be the right thing.
Its the soap birthday and ITV are marking it so rightly, not everybody want to watch overpaid prats kicking a ball about its called choice. |

Doesn't matter. It's still the national team. Also, the other reason is that more people would want to watch the Football than Emmerdale.
The GB Olympians are a team to be proud of. |

Your point is what exactly, this has been planned for months, if they are that bothered they can move the football to ITV 2,3 or 4 for fans to watch, whats the actual chances of the team actually getting anywhere probably nil to none.
Its the soap birthday and ITV are marking it so rightly, not everybody want to watch overpaid prats kicking a ball about its called choice. you could also say its to qualify for the world cup not everybody wants to watch emmerdale
