I loved Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2, this film doesn't appeal to me at all.

I don't think I'll go to the cinema to see this but I might watch it when it comes out on DVD out of nostalgic reasons for the original which scared the living daylights out of me as a teen.

Watching that trailer, the deadites (or whatever they call them) look very zombie-ish. In the original, they were far more like evil demons from a fantasy film like Clash of the Titans or something, in my opinion anyway. I don't think they've quite captured the feel of them.

The remake looks pretty disturbing, moments in the trailer nauseated me. Haven't felt like that since the original Exorcist.

My reaction after watching the trailer was this:

I knew that an Evil Dead movie would have a fair amount of gore in, but I was never expecting that much to be shown in the trailer! My jaw dropped at the tongue sequence, and the tree part looked vile too.

Having said that, I don't know if I would want to watch gore for the sake of gore, which is what this seems to be. It does look quite dark, however, which is definitely a positive.
