yep.

The difference is, there'll be times when you don't have your camera with you but do have your phone with you.

Not really going to be times you have your tablet with you but not your phone.

I bet all those people complaining about the nexus 7 upgrade to 32 GB are glad they didn't buy an iPad 3

Has there been any more evidence of the 32GB model? Could it all just be a misprint in that Argos brochure?

BTW Tesco Direct have the 16GB model reduced to £189 (+del) at the moment.

Actually I haven't bought a new camera for a few years now so the camera on my phone is probably just as good as my dedicated camera.

PC World/Currys are selling the 16GB in store at £189.99 - Comet are selling at the same price if you order/reserve online but in store (without reservation) it's £199.99. Found it quite amusing when I bought mine as Comet are next door to PC World/Currys so it was a no brainer to buy from PC World/Currys despite their woeful customer service (yeah I wanted to save £10 and didn't want to reserve online at Comet and pickup in store as I wanted to browse for cases also, so I chose the store with woeful customer service and amused myself by giving them feedback)

The £189 price tag could be to try and clear some inventory before the new model comes in...

Unless it's a poor camera to start with the majority of basic point and shoot cameras will be better than a phone or tablet because they can have a larger sensor included and better and larger lenses.

Tagging on...

I had intended to get an iPad mini but was rather narked at Apple's underspec'd and overpriced offering earlier this week, and so am considering a Nexus. Time is slightly of the essence (dead Kindle, need something to read my eBooks on).

I gather there may be a 32GB version out (if not on sale) next week, retailing at £199. HMV are selling the 16GB version at £169.99 in store - or they were, they may have sold out!

I did regret choosing an 8GB iPod, but given that this Nexus may be a stop gap until a retina display iPad mini comes out, saving even just £30 may be sensible. It may also give me an idea when the time comes of whether a 16GB iPad is a sensible option or whether I should take a gulp and go for the 32 or 64GB.

So, assuming the rumours re the 32GB are true, how long is it likely to be before it's on sale, or should I just jump for a cheapy 16GB now?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This article (25-Oct-12) seems to know what's going on:

I realise their website states that £169.99 is the online price and £189.99 the instore price, however I was surprised to find it today in my local (Reading) branch on sale at the lower price!

From what I've been reading it sounds like the 32GB is going to be available as early as next week after the Google Android event on Monday. I'm itching to get my hands on a Nexus but waiting for the 32GB!

The onboard storage was the only thing which was stopping me getting a Nexus 7. 16GB was just too small but 32GB seems reasonable. It's going on my shopping list.

You will waiting a long time for any Nexus device to have expandable storage. None of them have or ever will. Google see cloud storage as the future and the more you use cloud storage you realise why. I don't use up that much storage on my phone but have gb's available whenever I need it on my phone or comp.

it is the future, and as wifi in particular gets more prevalent it is a nicer way of doing things. Even in central london though, still a way to go for comprehensive wifi, but increasingly its there whenever I've stopped somewhere (cafe, pub, office) to actually use my tablet.

Think it will be a way to go for me then if there is still a way to go in London...I'm still on 1.5MBs broadband at home so the cloud at the moment is a nice idea but much too slow in practice.

Personally, I think people who use a tablet, especially an iPad, to take pictures are idiots:

Yeah, completely agree. Nothing worst than being at a packed gig and someone is holding a 10" tablet up in front of you the whole set.

Get a camera...or get a phone with a camera! Don't hold up a slab to block the view of folk behind you - it ain't what I paid to see!
