When this Emmerdale producer arrives could he destroy Corrie like he did with Emmerdale?

Will he turn Emily into a violent monster that will terrorise Norris and could David Platt finally realise that Sally Webster is his true love?

I would LOVE to see Emily turn into a violent monster.

But seriously, yes Corrie will get even worse than it is at the moment.

This guy seems worse than Paul Marquess and Corrie is going to have a very dark future.

There was an article banded around last week with a list of names SB was gonna axe and one of them was Tyrone and everyone on here was saying it would never happen well by judging from the way he has treated Tom Lister i think characters like Tyrone even Roy, Kevin and Steve seriously better watch their backs!

Does the Pope pray?

There is a bulldozer with SB in big letters on it, about to cross over the Pennines and crush Corrie into oblivion, doing far more damage than the tram did. the yellow warning lights fashing on it are bright enough to see from space. First stop to de-Corrify it - change the cobbles for Tarmac.

It will be Sorrynation Street by this time next year.

Not strictly true, that article was bull and even at that it never said those names were in line to be axed, it claimed that those actors were scared for their positions as all new producers like to make their mark on a show.

I think it's good that a producer isn't scared to change things. It makes a change from the same "special" actors/characters, who seem to be able to do no wrong

Exactly, Corrie has been in a dire state for the best part of a year, if not longer, if anything SB could be a blessing in disguise for them.

He believes in consequences which is what is missing in most soaps, so hopefully the likes of Tracy, David, Ryan, etc will meet their maker.

What's wrong with David ? Once he starts getting that conniving evil side back to him he'll be great again just a bit boring atm

Yup, people go on about Marlon and Laurel, but compare that to the likes of Stella and Jason, Karl and Sunita, Tracy and Ryan.

The thing is, Corrie is due a shake up. He'll certainly bring a different approach which might be quite refreshing.

He can start with Sean, Dev, Karl & Sunita, Tracy & Ryan. But equally there are some things he shouldn't touch, ie. most of the oldies.

I think the only oldie they could move on is Emily. She's barely in it now anyway

There's a logic behind Tracey and Ryan, though, and that's coming to a head next week anyway. It's in character for Tracey.

I think Stella and Jason might be ok together; shocking as it might look on paper - they're not harming anybody and Eileen's interactions could be interesting. Karl and Sunita is a massive misstep, admittedly.

I don't think Coronation Street's in an awful state; yes, it's going through a slightly quiet period but, for me, it's not a disaster zone. It'll pick up with the Kirsty and Tyrone plot and Peter and Carla's return. The show has been slightly off kilter since they left, really, but they needed a break.

There's nothing wrong with David, I didn't mean it as if he was fodder, I meant he hasn't had his comeuppance for the bad things he has done in his life.

Sorry, but there's no logic to Ryan or Tracy as characters and no reason for their return's on the show in the last few years. They are hated by the mass public and are deadwood.

Stella is an awful character, putting her with bland builder is a ludicrous idea. Jason is also one of the reasons why a good character like Sarah Platt won't return.

Phil Collinson has set the show back years due to his terrible decisions and storylines, it going to be a big job for SB to try and rectify everything. Corrie is in a dire state and light years behind the rest of the Soap world.

The biggest mistake was axing Tracey in the first place - it's no wonder Collinson brought her back. The only question is the ability of the actress but every soap needs a bitch.

As for no logic behind Ryan and Tracey - there's a perfectly good reason. Tracey wants to cause ructions between Michelle and Steve while Ryan wants to rebel.

Stella is an awful character, putting her with bland builder is a ludicrous idea. Jason is also one of the reasons why a good character like Sarah Platt won't return.
Stella has breathed some life into the Rovers, the McDonald era needed to finish. Gloria is the mistake but the actress is good enough if the scripting and direction can improve for her.

Phil Collinson has set the show back years due to his terrible decisions and storylines, it going to be a big job for SB to try and rectify everything. Corrie is in a dire state and light years behind the rest of the Soap world.
Considering the state the show was in when he took over I think it was impossible for him to set it back further. It's definitely in a much better state than the Kim Crowther era. It's not perfect but there's a lot of scope for Stuart Blackburn to work with.

Just like there was a lot of scope for Stuart Blackburn to work with when he took over Emmerdale. And he's become arguably even more disliked than Bryan Kirkwood at EastEnders.

I loved your post - it made me laugh but very true if it is anything to go by the way he ruined Emmerdale

I dont watch ED, but did see some of the live ep and I know lots were upset when Carl died, also shocked to hear Vicar Ashley was an abuser and that Marlon and Laurel were going out (what happened with Ashley and Laurel, I remember when Marlon was in love with that girl the Woolpack roof feel on top of her).

I hope his good, though some of the comments about his ED era doesnt look good.
Though I would love it if he killed off Ken and Rita
