I can't even get upset. To be honest I find it all so repetitive and contrived it's become dull and boring, same things over and over again! And I used to be someone who adored Chryed. It nearly cost them their sanity and their lives, but they fought and won because of the strength of their love. That was Chryed the storyline and it was that story who drew praise from organisations dealing with homophobia and gave Chryed one of the largest, most diverse and faithful fandoms in soap.

The travesty of this farce is that it has made a mockery of the integrity of the story and Syed as the voice of countless men and women who find themselves in similar position. What Kirkwood has done is not just destroy Syed but what and whom he came to represent and I find that quite unforgivable. Worse still, Newman was neither willing or able to change big chunks of this charade and it makes me think that there was little desire to invest in these characters. Santer and DTC held the storyline together, it was their vision that carried it through and it showed, once they left there was only one way for Chryed, downhill.

I think that as soon as Marc resigned Kirkwood set to work in splitting up Chryed, he signed Gary Lucy and the team planned the whole arc. But Kirkwood was then fired and Newman made the new EP. Conversations with Johnny took place and they agreed it was best for Christian (Newman's words again) to leave as well. Trouble is that the issue of contractual obligations and episode quotas had to be resolved and instead of tptb making credible changes to the arc they appear to have gone back to what has happened before and stretched it to the limits. When you look at it it's actually a thin plot which would normally be resolved in no more than three weeks worth of episodes. But those quotas had to be filled one way or the other and they opted for the laziest way to do it, same ol' same ol' stuff for the umptieth time.

Syed appears to have lied once again, and Christian once again will be brokenhearted. No longer Chryed, more The Ballad of Syed The Terrible and Christian The Martyr Chryed were once realistic characters who loved each other warts and all, now I find them little more than caricatures of their former selves. What a sad ending to what once was a powerful, moving and amazing storyline.”

My work colleague, who only watches EE when her father is aroun, seemed surprised that Syed was having second thoughts about marrying Christian, as she said the last time she saw him, he couldn't wait to get married. That might have been New Year, but nothing had happened between then and the beginning of September to change that. I think about Syed in May wanting Christian to stay in with him and Yasmin instead of partying and I wonder when Syed started to lust over penthouses and an exciting lifestyle with flashy w******? Oh, there is no point trying to make sense of it

BIB: Yes, this. What upsets me so much about where these spoilers SEEM like they are going (you never know

) is that this was brought up at the wedding. I nearly had a heart attack, but I thought the truth had come out. As a viewer and fan, I then enjoyed the wedding. But it now looks like Syed lied - it must be the only EE cheating incident whereby the viewer doen't know/isn't in on it and quite honestly, I don't like the idea. I feel like tptb must really dislike me to let me think one thing and then turn it around on me like this. Why couldn't it have come out at the wedding or at least have us know Syed lied - this seems to be a real cruel trick (if you ship the couple, I guess

). There really needs to be more to this for me, as Katrina said, this is way too stressful

I feel a bit sorry for Syed from having read bits and pieces. He seems to be one of those tortured soul types. Never really happy with what they have, and sort of compelled to do stupid things, despite the consequences. I think we all know somebody a bit like that.

Or we keep getting spoilers that say, elsewhere Chryed are having hot sex, but we never get to see it yet still have to tune in for the rest of eternity on the off chance that one day it might be true.

But Syed now, is no longer the strong character that used to inspire me.

I thought the wedding episode was beautiful and it brought me to tears, but then the episode after it and the new spoilers felt like a slap to the face. I don't think I can ever watch the wedding again, seeing them exchange their beautiful vows and knowing that they would break up soon.

With regards to the recent spoilers about Syed having really slept with Danny, I am confident that Danny is just lying. I cannot see Syed ever sleeping with another man and especially never lying to Christian about it on the wedding day. But then again, I could never imagine that the writers would bring Chryed down to this level, so I just don't know.

On the bright side, I love how accepting Zainab is of Christian and how much she's changed about it. It's lovely to see! It was also nice to see that Zainab and Masood didn't revert back to being homophobic after they found out about Syed lying about the money. In fact, Zainab's line about how she has a new son in law to help the family was really beautiful And I have hope that Syed will be reconciling with his father soon - it would be nice to see the Masoods stick together.

Sorry for such a long rant. It's really lovely to see the old names on the thread who were posting back when I was posting, and really nice to see new names as well! And I see that you lot are still as adept as ever at writing long well though out pieces about characters and storyline! It's really lovely being back, even though I've forgotten how depressing it is being Chryed fan, lol. Let's all hope that the writers have something up their sleeves that will be so wonderful for Chryed that we can forget this whole sorry mess. ”

I cannot bear the thought of Syed sleeping with Danny and the fact that he went through the CP lying! I just can't...

I too am going to try to never get so invested in a soap/tv couple ever again. I love Chryed with all my heart but I actually hate the current tptb for what they have reduced the story and characters to!

I've compiled a list in my head for the points for Syed having slept with Danny and against!

For:
1. Syed has been written out of character recently, so this would just be one step further. It also seems like one of BK's plots.

2. We don't know what happened after the kiss.

3. Johny's interview and mag write ups certainly seem to imply that Syed did sleep with Danny.

Against:
1. Surely EE wouldn't bring Chryed down that low! (or would they?!) And didn't BK say in an interview once that Chryed would never cheat on each other - I mean I get the kiss is cheating, but I think BK meant cheating in the more biblical sense.
2. During the wedding episode, Syed was the one who insisted that it wasn't just a kiss, it was even worse than that in his heart. Why would Syed say that if it really was more than a kiss? It seems pointless. And Marc's acting during the moment made Syed seem almost sickened at the thought that he had actually slept with Danny.
3. There was a spoiler that said that after Syed rejects Danny's advances, Danny tells a terrible lie. Basically, Danny's a lying jerk.

4. Masood saw Syed kiss Danny - and wouldn't Massod tail Syed afterwards to see where he was going? Masood seems convinced that it was just a kiss, so maybe it was!

5. The fact that Christian believes that Syed slept with Danny, when Syed didn't seems like added drama that EE would love.
6. Actors like to tease viewers so interviews are highly misleading, and so are spoilers!
7. Syed loves Christian and would never have slept with Danny, then lied about it to Christian. :sleep:

Lol, so this is just my list! Hope it's somewhat helpful to others, but basically the fact that the points against Syed having slept with Danny outweighing the points for is the only thing that's keeping me from punching things!
