Badly written, badly paced, badly acted in places. Characters acting as though murder is an everyday occurrence, well I suppose it almost is in Emmerdale but still.

Gennie & Charity not realising that Chas might be in shock over Carl.

They raced through scenes with almost no focus. Surely most of the 8pm episode should have been spent on Jimmy?

I don't know what they were thinking, it's as if they tried to fit 5 episodes in just 2.

So disappointed after the great effort last night.

A tad harsh Viv.

Mind you, in your defence, I too noticed that folk didn't act overly shocked on hearing about a murder on their doorstep.

That didn't really sit right with me either.

I didn't think it was awful.

But I did think the reactions were strange. Even the ones that did seem shocked were over it again in 2 seconds.

Tonight was great, so disagree entirely. The only sour point was Megan's reaction which was very wooden.

...and Bob was a bit too happy and eager to tell the police about Jimmy. Okay, he was telling him what he saw, but surely Bob's known Jimmy long enough to know he wouldn't kill him?

In a village that has had car crashes, truck crashes, houses blowing up, a pub exploding, someone shoved through a window, murders, bust ups and arguements by the bucketload, it properbly becomes second nature, and doesn't affect them like it would normal people. Just ask those who live in Midsomer

Lol ... true!

There would probably have been more surprise if somebody hadn't been offed.

This was why I thought Emmerdale was so strange tonight.

Just watched the eps on Plus1 and completely disagree.
The 'discovery' ep was very good and the final scene in the second ep was real 'heart in mouth' stuff.

You are entitled to your opinion. The same goes for anyone else but you always criticise other peoples opinions!

Folk deal with shock differently though, Bob could have let his mouth run away with him whilst in shock & not realised what he was blurting out .................... couldn't he? ..................... nah, on second thoughts he's a grass!!!!

I said I disagreed with the OP, just like loads of people have, I said I enjoyed the episode and what I didn't like about it.

Get over it.

I have to agree. I was expecting a lot more. There should have been more focus on people's reactions and longer scenes. The scene with Edna telling Jimmy was terribly rushed. The whole double had no emotion and was awfully paced.

People like Cain & Charity may have hated Carl, but they got over the fact he had been murdered so quickly.

Put yourself in Cain's position then - Your daughter has just given birth, your arch-enemy has been killed and your daughter's boyfriend was nowhere to be seen and hard to get hold of, someone who you've been suspicious about for the last year.

Would you get over the fact Carl was killed, I know I would, as I would want to know where my Daughter's boyfriend was and if he is a murderer I wouldn't want him near my family.

As for no emotion, Nicola, Chas, Cameron, Edna, Jimmy, Victoria, Dan and others gave great performances once again. In fact I was crying along with Edna.
