Oh yes, I'd forgotten about 'Winnie knows....'
I'd rather like an answer to that and some more of the home too, Denise will give us an 'in' to revisit that next series.

Dad's stroke didn't work for me too much of a change in tone, for me to fully go with it.
Again too many cards played too early IMO with the pregnancies.
Hope they slow down a bit next series, the air fairy Sister and Sarah's Mum and Dad had lots of mileage in them and weren't used enough.
Hope Sarah gets to push her personality a bit more too, she's a little too wet.
The home scenes, and the scene of the grandma and the secret map in the car were real 'laugh in recognition' moments for me.

I would also like Sarah to 'man up' a bit - love her crazy denial dentist in Fresh Meat. Am one of the SCD fans who can't get see Jan Ravens without the 'I hope you're happy' scene coming straight into mind!

Nobody watching tonight?
Male lead's acting is a little clunky.
All the nursing home stuff was amusing, storylines a bit meh but what they're doing is amusing enough.
Liked the couple being tucked in by his mum too
God how I hate that "word"

The bit with Jack's sister and gran in the car talking about the map was hilarious.

Sarah is the weak link for me; I can understand why they've gone for the classic concept of the 'outsider' as straight man to the comedic family, but I find her (or the actress's portrayal of the character) very meh.
AGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

Vicky and Denise (ESP Denise) are my faves. Big Fat Keith reminds me of a local guy here known as Stanley Elvis. He always goes round in trackie bottoms and a vest top too. Although he's not quite as big as Big Fat Keith.

My mam n dad were banging on about this from the start, so i finally caught up and watch all 6 (nearly) back to back on the iplayer and thought it was brilliant, not too much swearing just well observed comedy with some great performaces, I watched Gavin and Stacey from the start and to be honest that was slow at the start and I only thought it had a passing resemblence to it. Must admit I guessed Jim Moir being ill at the wedding before hand although I did think he would probably peg it.
2nd series? not too sure but a bit more of Gina McGee is always welcome

9.5/10

A good word, in my view.

Three letters that express so much. A descriptive, all purpose, shrug of indifference.

Just caught up with the last episode now - loved it. Thought the whole series was excellent. Glad they didn't kill off the dad.

It's the first thing I've seen Gina McKee in where I've really liked her, she was great in this.

Hope there's another series.

Just heard on Look North that the show has had a 6 part second series and a Christmas Special commisioned.
Filming in the summer and hoping to be broadcast late 2013

excellent news, now to hope that Cuckoo & Bad education come back as well. I know they're not to everybody's taste but I enjoyed them.

The way BBC Newcastle have been going on today you'd think it was everyone at BBC Newcastle who'd wrote it personally.

loved this series from start to finish, have never been able to stand the character of Vic Reeves but as himself Jim Moir has been a revelation in this series. Thought the cast were all good will some really good strong female leads, really hope it gets a second series.
Yes he did, in that biographical programme, Eric and Ernie, I think it was.
Well he's not himself, he's playing another character.
I watched Eric & Ernie the other night and Reeves played almost the exact same character. Basically it's Jim Moir as himself. Luckily the two roles i've seen him in doing serious acting has suited his style.
