Blimey, there was over twenty million people at home watching tv on a saturday? Maybe they'll start doing some decent programming for the rest of the year now.

How did SCD beat The X Factor when The X Factor had over 8 million votes, and Strictly Come Dancing only got 7 million all series?

That must mean almost everyone who watched The X Factor voted in that case.

the sector that watches x factor happens to be the voting type, and more to teh point, the multiple voting type... People who vote will do so 10 times on x factor, as where only once or twice on SCD. SO a lot less actual people voting and those people voting a lot less times...

But well done to SCD.

I don't think it really matters at the end of the day, people seemed to enjoy both shows. I know I have become hooked on SCD, and seeing the improvement in some of the celebs. Its a shame that the judges feel the need to try and become nasty when their favourites are voted out by the public.

Simon Cowell will not be happy about this. The X factor was supposed to be the big Saturday Night show, and it's been in the pipeline for ages. Imagine his shock to see it beaten by the BBC every single week apart from the first, which was only because the X factor had been running its audition shows beforehand and had the publicity wheels running faster than Strictly Come Dancing.

I am happy about this result. I think it shows that talent contests, whilst still worthwhile because of voting revenue, are being neglected by many viewers. Strictly Come Dancing is an inoffensive, fun, cheerful way to spend a Saturday night, much more so than seeing three X factor judges massaging their egos. Long may this trend continue!
