When did Kelvin Fletcher become such a terrible actor?
I remember when he was a boy on Emmerdale and was very good, especially the barn arson storyline.
When did he become such a dense, wooden dope? |

Completely agree about his acting. He was great as a kid.
Was good to see him on Millionaire, he does seem a nice bloke. I reckon the worst acting in Emmerdale has to be Cameron. Seems his only idea of acting is like some rubbish gangster movie. So over the top. And that stupid whispering voice. Terrible |

Could not disagree more Kelvin Fletcher was the best in the live episode.

I found him rather pointless tonight, he didn't seem that excited about baby jack or anything. Victoria made up for it though: she was amazing with both children

Kelvin Fletcher has been great this week. Loved Andy's line about Jack tonight.

I did find it mildly amusing when Charity arrived at the hospital & said to him ... "What are you doing here?"
"I'm the flaming father!" .... he replied. ![]() ![]() |

To be fair, it's hard to be a good actor when you've got sod all to work with.

Kelvin Fletcher can be brilliant with the right material. I am sick of Cameron. Want him gone ASAP. |

Yes, he was better in the live show (as was Robbie btw) but overall his acting has gone backwards.
Maybe it's just a case of him not having much to do over the past couple of years, or even starting to go through the motions and not working at his craft enough? He's been in the show a longtime now, so it's easy to take your foot off the pedal, so to speak. Look at Belle. She was brilliant as a toddler and showed real natural ability, but imo she no longer stands out. |

He was one of the best in the live episode and has done well with all the material he's had over the years inc. the phenomenal abuse storyline.

I wonder if they will put him with Debbie? Once Cameron goes.

From what I remember, that storyline was sensationalist rubbish that completely did a 180 on character personalities and then was quickly forgotten after.

How was it forgotten, it always gets mentioned whenever he starts to show any sign of a temper, the aftermath lasted for ages, before anyone started to trust him again.

It's kind of funny reading those posts; Kelvin Fletcher is indeed a very nice bloke.
Back in 2008 I did some work experience at Emmerdale and you know one of those moments where you're embarrassed even when you've not done anything wrong? The regular crew already there had actually run a book on how often he would force a re-take as he was a regular at it. He kept fluffing his lines constantly. The irony is that he - in my opinion - is one of the most naturalistic actors in the show. Whereas more wooden actors are better from the off. I dont watch Emmerdale these days but tuned in for the Live Ep and I thought he was great. |
