An "Englishman in New York" is an expat.
Listen to the song. In New York but not necessarily of it...

I still can't warm to Joan Watson though it has nothing to do with her sex, there's just no chemistry between them.
I thought the end of the episode where Holmes waited with her for her ex-boyfriend to not turn up to rehab was quite emotional. But that was the first time. Other than that it's OK but not very involving, and some of the plots have been a bit hackneyed. The title of one story made it obvious that the child was the predator, and the Asian gambling one seemed obvious from the calm way the victim accepted his death.

Everything seems obvious when you know what has happened.

Really enjoying it and they're consistently good 10 episodes in and there have only been a couple of duds (ep 4 and 6). It also feels like a nice time to take a break for a while- absence makes the heart grow fonder. Also this isn't a thriller and all the episodes can be watched self contained so it isn't as frustrating to take a mid-season break.

It's also doing to the business for Sky Living consistently above 1 million, I've no idea why it isn't on Sky 1 though although I'm not sure why everything on Sky Living couldn't be on Sky 1.

I expect they'll wait until they can show the 14 episodes without a break.

Perhaps mid February?

They're saying January. Assuming it sticks to the current slot, it will be back on Tuesday, 29th.

Thank you for the replies. I don't like waiting for shows to come back on I would rather watch them in a straight run. I guess it will give me time to start other shows and catch up through Jan though.

Doesn't sound good....but if there is to be more breaks in the US, maybe better to hold back on it here.

Just read this on the SKY Living page posted today:
Missing your Elementary fix?

Well, we're happy to confirm that Holmes and Watson will be back next month with another brand new mystery to investigate.

Not only that, but the remainder of Series 1 will be shown as an uninterrupted run, with some episodes coming to Sky Living just days after being shown in the States.
I'm guessing there are to be more breaks in the US, so by the end of the season, that's when we'll be just days behind them.
