Definitely not "usually," but certainly "often enough."

So "early?" It is the end of the season.
I loved that episode, and the reveal. If people really want fidelity to Conan Doyle I don't know why they would watch Elementary, and I don't know why they would watch the BBC's Sherlock either. The two shows are not afraid to make very big changes to the original Sherlock Holmes material. Loved last nights episode with the mega reveal at the end: I like this Moriarty. ![]() Watson on her own, I liked too. Quote:
What is it with the British moaning -- elsewhere too -- about the "London" on an American TV show not being the real London? Time and money are not infinite in the TV business, especially for a handful of scenes set in a country an ocean away.
![]() But I'm sure they are going to film in London for the first two episode of Season 2. |

Not enjoying this at all and I won't be watching season 2. Nothing about it is Sherlock Holmes, from the lead actor to Watson and now to Irene Adler/Moriarty, nothing is 'right'.
BBC's Sherlock shows how you can adapt a modern version and still make it Sherlock Holmes, it's almost perfect. Elementary unfortunately is far from it. |

I am interested in what exactly Moriarties plan was, or whether she was just messing about with Holmes. That said I had an equally difficult time in figuring out Moriarties exact reasoning in Sherlock too.

Elementary Demonstrates the Right Way to Update a Classic Hero
I rather liked this read.
![]() I understand that UK Viewers did not see the final episode because it is being aired as a two-parter (which it is, only the US aired it as a 2 hour finale). So, there are spoilers galore. I recommend that those who haven't seen the final episode refrain from reading this article until after next week's episode. Elementary has been quirky and fun, its the only new current drama on US network TV that has held my interest ( i was a fan of 666 Park Avenue though ). |

Yep cause I like giving any show a proper run before making up my mind. I really wanted to like this too and it started off well, but then it just dragged and dragged and dragged. Will cut my losses after the finale next week.

I'm a little behind on Elementary but I'm slightly alarmed that last week Sky Living showed Ep23 and this week is Ep24 the season finale which is 2 hours but the second hour doesn't seem to be scheduled anywhere. Does anybody know about this was last week the first part of the season finale?

Episode 24 is the standard one hour. In the US, episodes 23 and 24 were shown back-to-back and promoted by the network as a "two-hour season finale." US networks do this sort of thing all the time.

Well I for one really enjoyed that series. A few draggy moments, but generally very entertaining. Looking forward to series 2 now.

Well at the end of the series I'm holding with my earlier opinion.
As a "Sherlock Holmes" show it's nothing special and the likes of the BBC1 show, the RDJ films and of course the classic series all do it better. However as a police show with a likeable cast, good acting and great chemistry between all involved it does well and I'll continue to watch it. There was the usual problem in it's run where you think "Is this still on? I thought last week was the last one . God this is an endurance test". But that's usual for me with American showsdue to their large number of episodes, even half hour comedies seem too much at times. I soon get over it though. |

I know it's just fiction but would Greek really accept Macedonia just calling itself New Macedonia

Really enjoyed the final episode, and love Natalie Dormer as the evil Moriarty. Also think the writers did a good job in the season ending, as if it hadn't been renewed the show would still have had a "finished" feel to it.....
Only shame was killing off Arnold Vosloo's character, as he would have been a great recurring villain..... |

I hope it's not the last of Moriarty {liked the chat with Watson} we see, she was caught pretty easily last night imo....still a great end to season one, which turned out to be a Gem of a Series.
Loved the bee's at the end too. "Spirit of the Dambusters-and all that" |

possibly yes, after all the Greeks have previously suggested that they would accept "Northern Macedonia" as a name but the Macedonians turned it down. That's the acedonians in Macedonia, not the Macedonians in Greece.

Well they might of yes, but surely the problem is that once they have publicly sowed such willingness (even if they didn't really mean it) they are on shaky footing to turn down a broadly similar suggestion without looking foolish.
These days if a Macedonian suggestion was accompanied by a big financial package to Greece I'm sure any disagreement could be quickly ironed out. |
