I'm so glad that's all behind us now.


It was terrible. The worst thing was, he didn't even change. I thought him throwing away the bullet would lead him to realise that he's not bulletproof, but then he just punched Ste straight after.

Ha! Yes.


It was a really hard period, especially seeing everyone's enthusiasm for the characters and storyline die a little bit. I basically shrugged off Jubilee Week because I didn't even care any more, and it's horrible feeling like that over something you were once so passionate about.

It's interesting in a way though, because I really feel that with the Brendan and Ste stuff now, it could've gone either way.

I think as well, it was even more difficult but we'd had months of Brendan off screen in prison and we had high hopes for post-prison. He came back, had one tiny scene with Ste that revealed their potential and then involved in a lacklustre plot with Warren's exit. Then January where prison had basically been a reset.

Not bile You just really hated it, and understandably so.

I had hoped that the Ash stuff would lead to some interesting material for him, but it was all very hit and miss. Maybe the show sensed that, and that's why the storyline has never been mentioned again.

I love that the show has turned such a corner. Typical BK: he comes in, and kills everyone off with an explosion

I don't want to doubt ES's producing skills but she very nearly killed HOs.

She is obviously bound for a more childcentric program.

All the film homages, all the rappers, all the twitter mentions and generally trying to entice the 'cool' crowd to watch was hideous.

I'm sure she is great at her job, everyone she has worked with speaks of her highly, but she was definitely the wrong person for this job.

I think I'm going to stop getting ahead of myself (yeah, right ) and enjoy each gorgeous thing as it comes along. So my next bit of gorgeousness is moments of sexual tenderness.

I absolutely can't wait.

Oh yeah. I was bitter about the prison stuff for so long. I can't even go there.

I can't really single out the writing as bad - it was the whole flipping thing. The bullet theme was childishly embarrassing, Brendan's character felt wrong (as it did a lot around that time), the visuals were cheesy, and it was edited clumsily, so it was confusing to watch. Really really bad all round! Thank goodness that's well behind us.

I loved little Pip. And the shit symbolism. I've never minded Brendan being that random/slaggy when he wasn't near Ste, you can dance with Darren as much you want as long as you don't screw up your happiness at the end.

All the damage that was done is now being repaired. I think they knew it just didn't work on any level.

It wasn't LA levels of badness for me, but in a way it was worse, because at least with LA I didn't really love any pairings the way I do Stendan.

I've been looking at the photo's too much.......opinions on Brendan's jeans i'm not liking them right now.....the stripy t-shirt looks weird as well , we shall see:sleep:

Oh it was just so bad. It was horrible to see everyone so fed up for months and months on end, getting kicked at every corner, never given a nice scene or a break, nothing.

But for some reason there was a part of me that just couldn't give up and not I'm glad I didn't but they've wasted so much valuable time. To have such high hopes after Brendan got out of prison, then to get that was so bad. Brendan still hasn't properly dealt with prison, but with what we've been given lately, I guess that's ok

Oh I definitely think they are turning it around Ready.

I do think that if they had let her go on for much longer HOs would be unredeemable.

If u don't know the song, defo look it up, just me old nogen thinking up weird scenarios

By the way, I'm not trying to say that everything's going to be wonderful and plain sailing from here on out, because it won't be, but they're telling the story I love again, so I'm happy right now.

I feel like that pretty much sums up my feelings on HO too.

Ok, so maybe now we're happier we can talk about this now. But yes, exactly, one of the reasons I hated it was it was all so pointless. Nothing led anywhere. There was no progress. No story. No nothing. Brendan was off screen for 3 months, and when he came back, he punched Ste and then hung around doing nothing for 4 months. I honestly cannot understand what they were thinking, and I never will.


Massive turnaround ally, yeah. I still suspect ES was probably given this kiddie-friendly brief, all teens and slang and cool bands blah blah, and she probably did her best. But what a mad thing to do, when everyone had tuned in for an elderly serial killer in a cardie bumping off young girls!

What drove me mental was, it was clear from Day 1 it wasn't working. But their answer to the criticism was always the same - add more. Hate the teens? Here, have more, you'll get over it in the end, we're right, you're wrong, and if we keep telling you often enough, you'll cave. Same with Stug. Same with Mercy. Same with the bands and the slushy romances. But sometimes, you just have to accept you've made a mistake and take it on the chin. Shame it took them 9 months, it did so much damage.

But hey, a bunch of doomed weddings and a bus full of mortally wounded teens, and the audience should come flooding back. Someone knows their stuff.
