Album drops today and is already online. Tough to think of a single better album I've heard this year and for a long time for that matter. Not a single person better than Kendrick right now for me, he's on a completely different level to everybody.

Go and get it, you wont be disappointed. I'd go as far to say this will go down as a classic in years when we eventually look back.

I haven't heard his album in full yet, but I also like Kendrick Lamar a lot (being born in the early 90's, my heart is with the Aftermath crew), so I would also recommend people listen to his songs. My favourite single of his so far was The Recipe.

This album is stellar. No weak links/filler tracks and the whole thing is very socially aware and relevant without sacrificing great hooks and flow plus there's no dud lyrics.

Have any of you seen the review NME gave this album?

It's actually horrific. Whoever wrote that, must be the most un-interesting person ever if they really listened to his entire album and then had nothing to say about it. I just can't believe that. I thought it was a joke at first, I thought it was like a summary of the review, and the review would be in full lower down the page or something, but I scrolled down and reached the bottom of the page. Just gobsmacked. NME writers know absolutely nothing about any genres of music outside of rock. They should become a specialst website for guitar music, and leave hip hop, electronica, pop, etc. to other websites that actually know what they're talking about. I hate NME so much, it's like music snob castle.

On a more positive note, I'm happy to see MOST people are respecting the work he's put into this.

A year later and he's on top of the rap game.

Nobody comes close right now, what the games needed for a while now. The Control verse blew up big time and his Cypher just cemented why he's took the crown. Still one of the most important rap albums ever dropped IMO.

The recipe is a cool song..summery vibes and the beat makes you feel stoned.
