towards christopher by people saying fake this and fake that? The whole show is fake people!

I would actually say hes the 2nd best singer after Jahmene.

I just hope Jahmene gets spotted by someone in America, as that boy can sing and he wouldnt get the appreciation he deserves over here.

I don't get it either. He's a contestant in a singing competition and he ticks the necessary boxes, he sings well and in tune. More than can be said for some other acts.

IS one of those boxes laying on the cheese so think he makes a roll of cheese look redundant and cows should stop producing milk. If it is I'll give that to you.

I don't hate or dislike him, and he isn't the best singer there, yes he can sing, but there are plenty there and that have gone who are much better. Chris is more like a cursie ship singer.

No more like about it; he is a cruise ship singer down to the mannerisms.

This exactly. I just cannot understand why anyone would want to
a) see him in concert (unless on a cruise ship)
b) buy an album of his
c) separate him from his beloved nan.

i bet all of us have seen numerous people singing in pubs and clubs as good or better who wont get close to being on national tv

I am not a big fan of his singing style & yes he is a little dated in his approach but I am in agreement with the nastiness on this forum about the contestants by people who think it is cool and funny to be hateful to Chris & other contestants!

You can say don't come on here if you don't like it & stick to the Appreciation Thread where all is nice & fluffy but why should I? I would far rather have constructive discussions on why or why not we like an act or a judge etc

By the looks of it this year, I think those days are gone

OP you must know that there is no greater sin on DS than being "fake". Nobody ever makes clear fake what though.

Fake Person ... no I think he's a person
Fake Singer .... no I think he's singing live
Fake Star ... well the public will decide that one

I can only assume that this fake/phoney thing relates to his image/behaviour ??? If so I still don't get it. This is showbiz people, it's full of people with public images different to how they really are.

But don't let that get in the way of a good bandwagon.... btw Rylan must be really pi**ed at all the coverage Chris is getting.

The posts in the Support Group thread are among the most constructive you will find anywhere on DS. I speak from personal experience--I've had good results so far with crucifixes and garlic, as recommended by other forum members there.

Chrissy has an excellent voice - the nay sayers really ought to put their prejudices regarding his image and style aside and listen. By all means choose to dislike him, but it's a simple, observable fact that he sings in tune, has great range and a hugely powerful voice.

That said, he is demonstrating week after week that he hasn't got the hang of modern commercial music yet - his style is more akin to musical theatre or cabaret - and even though I think he is a fine singer, I'm not sure what more he can do in this competition. Personally, I thought club classics would have been perfect for him, but I was quite wrong; he was the worst on the night. He needs to be cooler. He needs to be better.

As for whether or not Hissy Chris will sell records or who will buy those records if he produces them, well I wonder that about all the contestants. Those who do, is it not embarrassing? Do you avert the gaze of the young lady in Woolworth's when you pick up your copy of the latest Leona disc? Do you hide your Little Mix inside a Thelonious Monk anthology as you leave the shop? It is very easy to be disparaging about other people's musical taste, but JLS fans ought not to throw stones. Clearly, some people like Tango-Chris and they will buy his cd.

Christopher is the People’s Champion.

The Magnificent One will march on to the final with ease.

Hopefully they can find a celebrity worthy enough of dueting with him. Someone who is accustomed to greatness, so as to not be overcome by Christopher’s awesomeness.

Woolworths is no more and buying music is mostly anonymous thanks to the wonderful www and the glorious invention known as downloading. Susan Boyle made a mint from it.

Disagree....He was the only guy who actually did a club classic with a bit of dance to it....the rest did the usual ballad style standing there doing nothing routine and half the songs arent even in the category of club classics...thought the boybands might have moved about a bit more.

Im guessing people are saying its cheesy purely down to the fact that he sang a classic 80s song...and may i add, the
80's were far better than the amount of sh!te you hear nowadays!

But hey'ho, it better to look cool and sound sh!te apparently!

I am afraid the cheesey opinion is not just based on this performance but rather all his performances to date.

Same as the labelling of him being orange. It is not just this particular tan but the fact that he has a different shade every week.

His is cheese through and through and really an abomination.

Nothing wrong at all with singing a classic 80's song.......but to be honest he just reminds me of an average club/pub singer. They are two a penny. Nothing really fabulous about him imo. Having said that, the rest of this years 'singers' are pretty mundane.
