Gav's comments:
From Above Hey ladies, nice start to the show! That song choice was quite a brave one as it’s a bit of a departure with what you’ve done so far in the competition so far, but it ties in quite nicely with what you’re associated with in real life, which is a good balance. As far as the song itself, I think you could have picked a better Solange track – her new ones especially would have suited you better, but I liked the more laid back, reggae ish vibes in the song, and it definitely had that ‘group’ feel, so I can see the logic in picking it. So yeah, well done. Robbie Hance Dylan has absolutely hit the nail on the head with this song choice for you! I feel like I’m going to say this a lot tonight, but this theme was super difficult for a lot of acts tonight, especially as this game is a little more alt-based than the real life show, but regardless of that, that was a phenomenal song choice. It kept who you are as an act, but also translated you brilliantly to the theme, which I thought would be impossible for an act like you, I thoroughly enjoyed that and I’m very impressed. |

Solange is EXCELLENT, & Miike Snow is far too... well he was used about six times in Risk Factor.
I LOVE Dylan though; I think I'll vote on mentors this time.

Carolynne Poole I actually found it quite difficult, considering the kind of artist you are and your strengths, to find a suitable song for you this week that was suitably dancefloor friendly, whilst still being you. This song, I think, while it’s still a bit of a departure from your previous weeks, reminded me quite a bit of your Starships performance – the chorus bit was maybe a little high in your register, but the verses and general structure of the song really appealed to the balladeer side to you that can really emote a story, and the heartbreak aspect of the song plays into your personality. I think it worked really well for you considering, and I hope people can visualise the song in your key. Lauren Smith Again, another super challenging week for an artist like you, and SD has managed to find a very unique song there for you considering the circumstances. I don’t think the vocal fit was perfect, but looking at it in terms of originality, inventiveness etc, it’s almost unparalleled in how good a choice it really was. It’s so good to see a Lauren performance with such energy and fun, so well done, excellent work SD. |

Poisonous Twin This was a very, very good song choice from you, you’re becoming a little bit of a dark horse I would say, the only thing I have a slight worry about is that some of the big notes were a little bit too big for you, but that’s nitpicking. So yeah, well done! Nathan Fagan Gayle Woah, this is a little bit of a blast from the past there, a real club classic you have indeed pulled out, but I liked this a lot for you. It was fun, it had a lot of soul, I was totally doing a Nicole and standing up and having a little dance while you sang. Although I’m not sure if this is going to be a big vote winner, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and at least in my opinion, you put it down, to be honest! |

Gavs comments:
Melanie Masson I was completely stuck with what to do with you this week, like I really struggled, but I do think you could do wonders with a song like this. I think behind the rocky layer of your voice there are some quite hippy-ish undertones, and this song sort of married the two aspects of your voice and personality together. You could do a fantastic job on the bigger notes, and maybe for the first time in this competition, we can see you unleashing your fun side. I think you’re an excellent perfumer, so I hope everyone sees what I see in this song choice for you. Mia & the Moon This was a difficult week considering the theme for you, but I quite like what Jess did for you here. Although I think it deviates a little bit, not too sure how I’d react if it came on in da club, but considering the narrowness, it was very inventive of Jess and quite a nice vocal for you. It’s great to see the kind of sultry aspects of you as performers, so yes, another solid week, girls. |

Gavs comments: Adam Burridge Dylan is the best mentor you could have possibly got in this competition – he really knows what he’s doing and this was, yet again, another fantastic performance from you. Again, it would be major difficult to find a song that works for both you and the theme but this is spot on, it’s nice seeing the sort of electronic edge to a song that still fits your voice. My favourite of the week, quite possibly. Kye Sones In my opinion anyway, this kind of strand of electro pop is sort of who you are as an artist, and I think the vocals within this song, although a little bit soft, kind of mirror yours quite well too. I really like this choice for you because I think it has like the air of hopefulness you have about you, and it really tested out your amazing range. I know you’re not so popular in real life with some of the judges and voters, but I hope you like my version of Kye a little more, as I think he could really do a song like that a lot of justice. Ella Henderson I like this SO much more than I liked your last song. This had a bit of drive and spark and energy to it, while still holding a lot of ground for your excellent vocals. A perfect close to the show, and a brilliant song choice to end on, well done. |
