Saw on twitter that EE films and EE wednesdays is to launch
tomorrow. Looks like a free film each week for ee customers and also the 2 for 1 cinema tickets deal as well.

The service is going to be available on desktops/laptops as well as mobile/tablet devices.

If downloading from an ee mobile device using the new ee film app, the film download won't come out of the data usage. Still no sign of tariffs yet though.

oh and the details.... http://film.ee.co.uk

This is going to get confusing. Are T-Mobile and Orange customers, considered EE customers for the purpose of this. I am assuming not, but I can see why lots of people will think they should be able to get this as it now has EE on their phones.

Good point.. According to the blurb on the main site the free film is available to 4GEE and EE fibre customers only until Feb 2013. Guess the EE wednesdays will be available to orange and t-mobile customers.

EE films:
"To celebrate the launch of EE Film, if you’re a 4GEE or Fibre Broadband customer, you can choose a film from our Film Store every week until 28th February 2013. It’s on us and we’ll even cover the mobile data if you download or stream it on your EE phone. Terms apply."

EE Wednesdays:
"Who is eligible for the EE Wednesdays 2 for 1 cinema ticket offer? All EE customers are eligible for 2 for 1 cinema tickets on Wednesdays."

Orange Wednesdays and Film To Go are staying as they are as far as I'm aware.

I wonder if this EE Films/Wednesdays thing is going to just be for the EE family. I.e. everybody?

I actually think they've handled this branding thing quite poorly. They should've merged the whole lot into one brand - either Orange, T-Mobile, or EE - instead of having three. I suspect that's what'll happen eventually anyway, but for those that aren't tech savvy, or aware of what's going on, it isn't really straightforward when you think you're on Orange, but your phone says EE. I've had to explain it to several people over the past few weeks.

Ah, maybe Orange Film to Go isn't staying then. Never used that anyway.

They will all merge at one point. The Ee on everyones phones is just the first part. Most people think they are on EE now which is what Everything Everywhere want. When everyone has 4G phones which will not work on orange or tmobile they will just close orange and tmobile down for the reason of lack of customers. Advertising wise they are going to be pushing EE a lot more than the other two.

thats my own take on what they will do anyway

I guess these services are like the ones that were already available, like Orange Wednesdays, but brought under the EE name so you can get them no matter which network you are/were on.

No matter which of the three networks you are on, T-Mobile, Orange or EE (the 4G network), you will technically be an EE customer. It would have been a lot less confusing if they had just merged them all into one brand, maybe this will happen in the future, but who knows?

They will work on those networks though, they have to. Not everywhere will have a 4G network and will rely on a 3G or 2G network (in the same way your phone uses a 2G signal when there is not 3G available).
Voice calling on 4G is not currently not be supported. To make calls your phone will rely on the 3G (or 2G network if not 3G) to make calls. They are looking at launching VoLTE (Voice over LTE) "at some point next year".

Disappointed. The site is now working and the service has launched but T Mobile customers are not included in the Wednesday film promotion despite being EE customers with EE on the phone

Fibre optic customers too, but I can see a lot of confusion with everyone's phone's saying EE. There's a huge EE footer on the T-Mobile website too.

Have just read the first two (and only) reviews.

Vicky - 30 October 2012 - Samsung Galaxy S3 with version 1.0
Refund!!!
Do not download this app, do not waste your time and money! I have spent over £1 sending texts for voucher codes that don't work. I only give 1 star because it won't let me give no stars... on the phone now to get a refund. Absolutely useless!

Darryl - 30 October 2012 - HTC Sensation 4G
Awful
No voucher codes. Wasted ££ with no refund
I can't register for some reason

I take it this means the end of 2 for 1 pizza express unless you still have orange?

They need to use EE4G consistently when they talk about who is eligible. They switch between EE and EE4G on the website and it gets confusing.

Orange Wednesdays Pizza Express ends on 31st May 2013 the guy in the EE shop seems to think EE will get it from then so you have to be on 4G to get the offer but can't find anything to confirm this though?

ok think I may have had a blonde moment

Just got EE fibre Broadband, and I thought movies were FREE, first of all I started by creating an account with my new orangehome email address.

Oddly its still asking me to pay, would it appear on my bill, as £0? data charges are not a problem as im on unlimited, but is that what is free about EE film?
