There is indeed rivalry between the boybands.
http://uk.omg.yahoo.com/gossip/the-juice/x-factor-mk1-district-3-better-intense-union-153513403.html
X Factor*urban group*MK1*have said thatUnion J*need to step up their game to match the vocal ability of rival boy band*District 3.The group, who were eliminated from the competition last night, exclusively told omg! today that they think*Union J*are focused on the wrong parts of the*X Factor.Charlie told us: "If you're not a musician you can't tell the difference between their techniques.*Union J*sing in unison and it's very simple for a boy band to all the sing the same thing." "With District 3, they have very intense harmonies and it's really impressive. Union J need to step up I think." Charlie then told us that the rivalry between the two bands only really existed on one side. She explained: "There is a rivalry from one side and not from the other. I feel that District 3 are such cool guys, they are very chilled out and like 'what will be will be'. They're the younger guys so you'd think they'd feel more threatened but to be honest it's*Union J." "They're a bit intense. They need to chill out. They are just a bit too extreme about it and should start focusing on the music."She added: *"At the end of the day,*District 3have incredible harmonies, they have incredible talent on stage and it shows a lot more." |

I think she's talking a lot of crap, with the exception of this week District3 have been utter rubbish. Also there is more than harmonies to consider, I personally can't stand two of the District3 member's voices.
Neither band is my cup of tea, for a start they both seem like pre-pubescent children who are going to sing other people's songs and do whatever they can to appeal to 13 year old girls, but I think that she's allowing her personal feelings to cloud her judgement. |

The question might be, how did a cr&ppy song like "What Makes you Beautiful" get a Brit award and why are they just about the highest paid boyband going at the moment? Is it because of their musical craft? No - it's because 13 year old girls (or gay men) have a fantasy about then. That's all that's really needed - a good song-writing team and marketing machine behind them. Those District Union boys all know it and want a piece of the action.

I think District 3 did very well last week, but i think their harmonies are absolutely rubbish
It confuses me so much when everyone says their harmonies are tight because they sound anything but, very wobbly (but at least they're trying- something UJ should do too) Overall I think UJ have better voices, or at least more appealing ones but I don't buy this boyband 'feud' at all.I don't know, I defended Charlie up until now but she's disappointed me here to be honest. I hope she doesnt continue to diss or sell stories about the other contestants now that MK1 are out of the competition. |

If Union J hadn't added Harry Styles, they'd have probably been bottom two already.

MK1 seem to be saying something about everyone so maybe they're just bitter that they are out?
